Hilton World Wide When I started at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, I didn’t really know what to expect. One of my best friends, James, worked in the banquet department for as long as I could remember, and he helped me get a job. This was my first real job that I ended up staying at for a long time. At first, just like anybody seeking a job, I was curious, but worried at the same time, so I asked James for his perspective on the job because I was just nervous I wouldn’t fit in, or I just wasn’t the right job for me. I never would have thought I would end up spending eight years of my life in the hospitality business. Conrad N. Hilton founded the company in 1919 in Cisco, TX and opened the first “Hilton” hotel in Dallas, TX in 1925. Conrad strived to be the best hotel in Texas, and due to his devotion, leadership, and inspiration, the Hilton brand is one of the largest and well-known companies in the hospitality industry with over 4,000 resorts in over 90 countries. Conrad’s mission was to be the global leader in the hospitality industry and to be the first choice of guests, team members, and time-share owners. The Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort is a 744-room resort that features 60,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, eight lounges and restaurants, two pools, a fitness room, full business center, and full service spa.
