Some people let tragedies that they experience affect them in different ways, some are drawn to some sort of release such as drugs and alcohol. I, however, choose to let my life tragedies shape me into who I am today. I have been faced with death in which one of my favorite people in the world was taken from me, my former drug addict of an uncle was faced with the consequences of his decisions, and my grandpa was looked in the eye by a stroke he a had shown different symptoms of. I have chosen to let these misfortunes shape me instead of affect me negatively.
When I was just ten years young my favorite people in this world were in fact my grandparents on both my mom and dad’s side and are still my favorite people to this day, no offense to my mom and dad. I was, however, particularly fond of my grandpa on my dad’s side, Grandpa Mike, he was in a band, one of which I forgotten the name of, and I just thought that was the coolest thing ever and probably aided in my career choice at the time which was a famous singer. Every time we had went over to his house I demanded he sing me a song and he always complied always singing the same song as well, Van Morrison’s Brown Eyed Girl, I was loving him singing a song “made just for me” as he would say. But then tragedy struck, according to my dad he had heart problems which is what caused what coroners think was a heart attack in his sleep. I was completely devastated I cried for days until I heard Brown Eyed Girl on the radio one
