quote from Michael Singer People often have preconceived notions about who they are. These ideas are usually detrimental, because these perceptions can cloud one's vision, causing them to lose sight of who they are. All my life I have adored science and math. Ever since I was four years old I knew I wanted to be a scientist. In addition to science, I loved writing picture books (especially about a friendly Tyrannosaurus Rex named Katie), singing, and composing songs on my little electric piano. However
“Do not be afraid”. That is my favorite motto to live by because every day, everyone faces some sort of fear. This short phrase reminds me to stay brave and focus on the good in my life and all around me. In my life, my greatest love is my family and friends. These 2 things keep me happy in life and they are all I need to get through anything in my life and help me follow my motto. These 2 things are also the things I treasure most in my life. In my friends, I value their ability to make me laugh
individual shows, they have a consistent message. That message comes across in my current favorites, House Hunter International - I love seeing how others live; anything from the Life series -Island Life, Caribbean Life & Hawaii Life; my newest favorite is Tiny House Builders. The Tiny House Movement fascinates me, living in, under 400 sq feet. Throughout HGTV’s programing they have a consistent message. “... find ideas and inspiration to transform your space and ... expert help…” HGTV is a
To say my faith life has been completely revamped in the last year would be an understatement. I had views and ideas about faith that seem somewhat vile to me know with the experiences I’ve had. From just lectures to the retreats my spiritual side has gone from that of a holiday catholic to a Campus Ministry Student. From little things to big ethic topics I’ve changed in a multitude of ways, my Spiritual Autobiography looks like looks like someone else wrote it compared to any year before it. I think
Knowing a person’s favorite book could give some insight into who they are and what they are like. For example, knowing that a person’s favorite book is The Art of War by Sun Tzu could mean that the person is competitive or aggressive. A reader’s favorite book can range from many different time periods in their life, as well as, many different genres. Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, a book I read in my teenage years, is my favorite books. This is my favorite book due to the many different meaningful
Throughout my academic life, a subject that has really inspired me the most is History. History has been my favorite because it includes all of my favorite elements.Which are how the past impacted the future and how the future could really impact the past.I have great interests in history because it has taught me much valueless material that I could use in my life. For example, speaking out for things that seem an injustice. Just like how many important heroic people did many years ago.One historical
Have you ever thought about symbolism in your life? Symbolism is important in our lives because if we recognize symbols and what they represent, it can help us to become a better person by letting us know what we need in our lives and how it helps us. I spent some time thinking about symbolism and here’s what I came up with. The first five symbols I would like to address represent the activities that I like to do often. My first symbol would be a shoe because I’m in cross-country and I like to
the start of my loser life full of self-deprecating jokes yet a small bit of outstanding confidence. Three words to describe me are: creative, artistic, and boring. Art is my passion; my life revolves around thinking of new ideas and how to draw them making me creative and artistic. Even with those traits, I consider myself boring because I’m not really “fun”, and plus it’s really dull living in the same brain for thirteen years. Despite the fact I'm completely lifeless, people would be surprised
music can affect people. Different songs can impact people, change their moods, or bring back memories related to a certain tune. Each person, however, has their own unique taste in music; one song can be loved by one but hated by another, it all depends on our personal taste and what we can relate to. This made me wonder, what does the music I listen to say about myself? Do the lyrics define who I am as a person, or do I simply like songs because of the beat? As I looked at my top ten playlist
The pieces say that as a student I put the effort that I can into my work. I try my best to finish the in class writing in time and to put effort and creativeness into the creative writing pieces. Looking at my hand written work, I need to slow down and try to write more legibly because I am not showing my best handwriting in those pieces. I am proud of my Fall/Spring benchmark grades, but I can work to improve. In the process of creating I learned that there can be multiple answers and perspectives
