“Life includes unforeseen incidents that prove critical to promote personal growth. Life rarely gives us what we want. We are lucky if life gives us what we need in order to fulfill the path that was in place at our birthing.” ― Kilroy J. Oldster, Dead Toad Scrolls. People will go through the journey of life. The life is not a destination but a journey. As people go through, they learn, experience, and gain. The journey of the life matters because the people can earn experiences and those experience makes people better.
It's an ongoing journey, and addressing these challenges is a testament to strength, not weakness. Life's struggles are the crucible in which our character is forged. From personal setbacks to societal pressures, each challenge offers an opportunity for resilience and personal development. By confronting these adversities head-on, we not only survive but thrive, emerging stronger and more resilient than before. Surviving life's unpredictable twists and turns requires a unique blend of courage and tenacity.
Life has its series of challenges and obstacles (“conditions of defeat”) that can often feel unfair. Individuals go through many ups and downs in their lifetime. Although life is sometimes unfair, we learn to love and cherish every moment we have with one another. True fulfillment arises from the struggle itself, the journey of overcoming difficulties/hardships. Our identities and perspectives on the world are shaped by diverse life experiences.
Obstacles change our way of thought and affect our emotions. A person’s values change as well as their character and they develop an understanding on their situation. Through the hardships of any situation, there is some way or another a solution only in the presence of desire.

My mother sent me to my grandparents place and let them took care of me at my early-age. It might be weird to say that the possibilities for me to see my own mother was pretty low, but that was the situation I had during my childhood. I needed to face the challenge when my classmates asked where were my parents and why they never showed up in the parents’ meeting. There was always questions around me and those struggles even used to blow me down into a shady person. That is the time my stepfather came into my life. I inherited a lot positive characteristics from my extended family. I take pride in my passion to learn in and how to be a resilient person.
They say life is a journey, some roads are less travel while others are divided highways; take one wrong turn and you may end up in a ditch. I have endured many tumultuous events in my life. But the road has always led me back to the Lord. I have been through many tremendous hardships over the years,
Life is full of decision making, and many obstacles that will come in your way to try and stop your path and prevent you from achieving what you must achieve. In the poems “A Laughing Heart,” by Charles Bukowski, and “The Journey,” by Mary Oliver, the authors both meet at describing what life is like and how to live life like the fullest, even though there will be things to stop you, and you may stop yourself. Both of these poems point out that you have to be the main character in your life, you have to beat everybody or every obstacle that will trouble you, you must overcome it to achieve the highest points of your life. In “The Laughing Heart,” the author says “and the more often you learn to do it, the more light there will be.” (14, 15). Charles Bukowski is saying that if you learn to successfully overcome your obstacles, your life will continually get better because there are less problems to face. A similar line in “The Journey,” is “...as you left their voices behind,/ the stars began to burn through the sheets of clouds,/ and there was a new voice which you slowly recognized as your own,” (24-29). The author is saying that as you started to seize opportunity, solve problems and face challenges in your life, you became stronger, and you became the main character in your life. The theme of these two poems is that your life is your life, and even though you will have to overcome obstacles and face challenges, you must be the main character in your life to live your
What is life? Life consists of experiences, challenges, and achievements; all of which are building blocks that essentially create ones path to success. In one’s lifetime they can experience tough and difficult challenges. Sometimes these challenges become unbearable, especially when the odds are against you. However, going against all odds is something everyone is capable of doing, and to overcome these challenges everyone needs to have a “never quit” attitude in life. If we develop it, we'll overcome quite a bit.
In my 38 years of life, I’ve had to overcome plenty of obstacles. When examining my life, especially in my younger years, it showed me life consists of an assortment of minor and major obstacles. Facing an obstacle, especially a major one, and conquering it, awards me a triumphant feeling. Furthermore, this feeling did provide me with determination, willpower, and courage to take on any future obstacles that life can throw at me (Harrington, 2012). This makes minor obstacles to become like a cake walk.
Everyone experiences adversity. Challenges that everyday people experience can potentially shape, improve, or destroy one's sense of self and personality. Through all these hardships and seemingly impenetrable obstacles, the most pertinent component of one's ability to overcome can only be shown in actions taken despite the odds. People have one of two options; to let those obstacles overwhelm them and keep them from pursuing all that they were destined to accomplish, or to march forward, fight harder and push past the seemingly impossible circumstances to become greater than they ever expected to be, but until they take the step that enables them to be successful -- they are stranded. All of our actions, mistakes, successes, and behaviors shape our person and what we can or cannot become, but what will always matter is our individual decisions and actions not those of the people around us because at the end of the day, we are the ones who have to deal with ourselves.
As a very small child I don’t remember too much, but the things that I do remember were seen through a child’s eyes that has made me the person that I am today and I will always have those memory’s with me until my last breath on this earth. In this essay I intend to show how my childhood and adult life to this point has influenced my life, my journey. By utilizing the adult development theories from this class I also intend on showing how they relate to my Life experiences and where I am today as an Adult student.
