Liking is an element of persuasion that I believed to be used along with all other elements of persuasion. Before you start a conversation with someone at times before you even decide to approach someone you use the 3 factors of liking. You would be more likely to approach someone who you feel is similar to the way you are in some way. If someone was to say “Hello, you look beautiful today” versus “Good morning” the greeting with a compliment would be more likely to get a response. In an education setting being likable is very helpful. If I wanted to persuade my teacher to give me 1 more day on an assignment, if I am a bad student who is always late and never turns in assignments I won’t get that extra day. Being likeable can at times be the
I am sure that everyone of you have heard about aliens and UFOs. Indeed, we all have heard about the famous case of aliens and UFOs in Roswell, New Mexico. Most people might be interested in the topic of aliens, but I know that the majority of you just think of it as rumours and the existence of them are impossible. Therefore, I am standing here in front all of you to make you change your perspective. I am strongly confident that I have found the evidence of their real existence to convince all of you.
Happy New Year! I'm sorry for not touching base with you sooner. I've recently completed finals with Liberty University a week ago. Unfortunately, I never received your email regarding the sample lessons. However, if it's not a problem, is there a way you can resubmit it to me?
If there is one rhetoric that every child is taught nowadays is the value of a college education. We are told it’s the only way to guarantee your future, I’m here to tell you it’s the truth. College has such a tremendous value that employers will drop their mouths in awe of your internship and piece of paper, that you call your degree. They see hundreds of resumes just like yours a year, but you're you, so diversification is not required to stay competitive. Afterall, It’s not like 83% of graduates end up in a career outside their major. So diversification like traveling the world, learning about the real world, and studying real-world subjects, isn’t necessary to get your foot in the door of your chosen career path. Why would you want your resume to say world traveler when it could say down and out graduate.
“What a game, the boys, played well, Justin is a great hitter.” After winning the first game in their new renovate ballpark, excitement filled Coach Bill.
When I was in middle school, I ran track—specifically, the 1500 meter event. Every meet, I got last place. But I still received a ribbon—the same size, albeit not the color blue—of the first-place winner. As a kid who didn’t really care about sports, I was never too upset over getting last—after all, someone had to. But I was always baffled by the fact that despite putting in minimal effort, I was still earning ribbons. To me, participating isn’t an achievement, and nobody deserves a trophy for it—I assumed people participated for the enjoyment. I ran track, not for the ribbons, but because I loved running. However, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to understand that everyone does not hold the same philosophies as I. Over the past four
Have you served in a war? Has your father or mother served in a war? How about your grandpa? As we honor those who have served we typically do so by standing for the pledge of allegiance or star spangled banner. We say thank you to our war heroes or we go and visit them and listen to their stories. In this paper I will be discussing why NFL players should not be allowed to kneel for the flag. Although the NFL players have the right to peacefully protest, they should find a different way than kneeling as it shows disrespect towards the flag also active duty military and veterans, it teaches young children this behavior is okay, what they are protesting has nothing to do with the flag and there are many different ways to get their message out.
I am writing to you in hopes that I could make you look deeply into the importance of free college. I strongly believe that free college should be provided for all citizens no matter their race. Free college should be supported by our government. In the United States ,many young tennagers stop chasing their drean because college is very expensive and they cannot afford the price that is required to pay so they can get an career and be educated.
Shawn and I were getting ready to go to the teen choice awards. Shawn was wearing a grey shirt withhold black jeans and black vans. I was wearing a black tight short dress that went to the middle of my thighs and black 3 inch heels." Y/N are you ready to go Andrew and my dad are almost here" Shawn asked." Ya almost ready just finishing up my makeup". " I told you you don't have to were makeup your beautiful without it" Shawn told me. " I promise it's a lot but of makeup". I know I told Shawn it was a little but it's not. I walked out of the hotel bathroom to find Shawn, Manny, John and Andrew on the couch talking about what the plans about for tonight since it's the award show then Shawn has to perform at the Greek theatre right after." Hi Y/N. how are you?" Andrew asks. "excited! What about you?". "Good, thanks for asking" Andrew responds. " Hi Manny, how are you ?". " good thanks you" Manny
By installing these positive emotions in others, they will have the natural tendency to like you and reciprocate those positive emotions to you. A key emphasis on the likeability factor, and frankly speaking, the quality of your life in general is a reflection of the choices you make and even more so, the choices other people make about you. The more likeable you are the easier it will be to build trust and develop a relationship in which other people value. There are four elements that will significantly improve your likeability. First is friendliness. Being friendly is an open communication of positive feelings towards someone. If someone perceives you as a friendly person they are more prone to like you. Next is relevance. Relevance is the level of connection you share with other people’s interests, wants, and needs. When you share a high level relevancy with someone, you have a strong basis to build a friendly relationship. Furthermore, we come to the third element; empathy. Empathy is the ability to imagine one’s self in the place of another and, from that vantage point to understand his or her feelings, desires, ideas, and/or actions, good or
I would tell them that it doesn’t matter how you look at your age. I know that technology is becoming very popular and that everyone has one, even the 6th and seventh graders that probably don’t need an Iphone6 yet, but that it doesn’t really matter how much make-up your wearing when you get to middle school. Barely any middle schooler around 6th and 7th grade wears make-up. Also, you don’t need to be the most popular person in school. I know that when I was in middle school, I wasn’t. And I still had an awesome middle school life. You can still make friends and go out and hang out with them. It is important to start making friends, if your one of the shyer ones, don’t worry. You can still make friends, you might end up making a friend that’s as shy as you. Or, you can
Have you ever wondered what you wish you knew about others? Well if you have you've probably had others wonder about you. Especially teachers, it's hard to tell them face-to-face, but I feel that writing is much easier to get a point or thought across. I wish that my teachers knew that I struggle with staying focused in class because I have insomnia, anxiety, and a tendency to be distracted by the smallest of sounds and movements.
While at family events, or social gatherings does it seem like the first 3 questions you are asked to stay the same for everyone you talk to. Starting off with, “how are you doing?”, “What colleges are you interested in?”, and lastly “What are you planning on majoring in?” I don 't know what i want to eat for dinner tonight, let alone what I wanna do for the rest of my life. Almost as if the only thing people care about anymore is college, and what major you pick. It seems to be common knowledge today that college is the only correct answer anymore. I believe it 's important for you to further your education whether that be through a trade school, learning on the job, military, or college.
Many of you will graduate from high school not knowing where life will take you next. Life is beyond mysterious and will take you to the most unexpected places, but at times you will need to take control of it. You will need to go after what you want and not just go with the flow to see where life will take you. College is the factor that separates the strong from the weak; it determines whether you sink or you float. In today's society you can not get very far without a college education, so I am asking you instead of making thousands of excuses, think of the possibilities that college could create for you and the future college would provide for not only yourself, but your future family as well.
For example, using a leftover coffee can for loose nails or screws, or even washing and reusing a plastic zip-loc bag instead of throwing it in the garbage. Thrift shopping is a way of reusing someone else’s unwanted goods. As I spoke about in an earlier speech about thrifting, I included many locations and ways to thrift, also the benefits to the shopper and the donator. One place in particular was shopping at the local boys and girls club. I personally shop there, keeping my eyes open for a good deal. For example, the pair of jeans that I am wearing today was purchased from this store just a few months ago. I paid only $8.00 for this pair of Lucky Jeans and according to buckle.com, a retailer for lucky jeans the retail price is $99.00 that is a savings to me of $91.00.I am not the type to worry about name brands, but quality usually does cost more. If I can get a quality pair of jeans at a fraction on the price, I am glad to shop at the thrift store. I am thankful to the person that made the donation of the lucky jeans and they can benefit from that donation. According to the IRS webpage, IRS. Gov it explains that an individual can donate items like clothing, household furniture and furnishings, a car or boat, even taxidermy. The donations are appraised, by the donator, and recorded. At the time of filing taxes if the donation equals at least $500 for the year, the donator may take advantage of the
People are more interested in likeable people as likeable people are (or at least appear to be) more interested in them.
