A liger is the hybrid child of a male lion and a female tiger and is the biggest jungle cat in the world. Ligers have muscular bodies and big heads. They have hard-to-see stripes, and the males have big, fluffy manes. Their fur is usually a mix of tan, brown, orange, and some black mixed in. The history behind the captive ligers can be found in India in 1799, when a female Bengal tiger was crossed with a male lion to have 3 liger babies.
