L is for listening to music because it is one of my favorite things to do. I like listening to music because each of the people I listen to have different sounds and different ways they put the music together with the instruments. The people and/ or bands that I listen to are mostly alternative people or bands. My favorite alternative band is Panic! At The Disco because I love there music. My favorite song from them is Hallelujah. I also like Casual Affair, Don't Threaten Me With A Good Time, House Of Memories and so many more. The top five songs that are the most popular from Panic At The Disco is I Write Sins Not Tragedies, Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off, Nine in the Afternoon, Miss Jackson, and This
There are only a few genres I choose not to listen to at all; otherwise, I can enjoy almost any form of music. I like country music because that is what my Dad always listened to. Although what was his country music was and what mine is today, is much different, my choice roots from my childhood exposure (Detrick, “Music History”). The two components I tend to enjoy most when listening to music are Tone and Rhythm (Detrick, “Music History”). I enjoy the way they make the stories being told, come together and make the song sound
When people are asked “which is the most rock famous band” or “do you know any rock band”, most people answer AC/DC. Despite being one of the oldest rock bands that are still active, AC/DC is still famous and well known among generations. The band has been around for more than 40 years and has been globally recognized as one of the most influential band to the pop culture of rock and roll. The band has a history of rotating members, yet the band is able to retain its famous characteristic in the music: energetic, eccentric, and raw.
Hot Topic was founded in 1989 in Westminster, California as a store specializing in accessories. In 1990, they added rock tees which at the time could only be found in catalogs, small record shops and at concerts (Hot Topic, 2006). By 1994, their assortment of merchandise was 50% apparel and 50% accessories. Hot Topic evolved into a retailer geared towards customers "who are passionate about rock music, pop culture, and music-inspired fashion" (Hot Topic, 2006). Hot Topic operates 748 stores in 50 states and Puerto Rico and was named one of Fortune Magazines best 100 companies to work for in 2006 (Hot Topic, 2006). This organization shows how a specialty retailer that targets young consumers can
I am a student who is devoted in academics and my family. In addition, my other passion is singing and playing instruments. Singing has been a big part in my life growing up. It taught me how to comprehend music and it helped me develop the English language. Music uses words that are poetic that can communicate with the listener in a deeper level. Obtaining music in my life has grew my language skills and
At the beginning, music has and always will be an important thing in my life. When I am on a road trip or am doing something that takes an extended period of time, I know I can turn on Spotify and drift into my own world. Also, if I ever feel perturbed or dejected, I can listen to my favorite album and feel great again. Third, music helps me prepare for activities such as football games or school. Lastly, music assists me whenever I’m working on something such as homework or a project for school.
My favorite type song is different from my least favorite type song by the beat, the way the words are organized, and the way that the people who sing it. In my favorite type of music, wich is usually rap, has big base drops and is very fast paced. In the slow paced music like poems it is obdviesly slow most of the time and there isn’t any base. I like to lay in my bed listening to rap music and it just soothes me for some reason I really don’t know why,but it just makes me feel better. Other slow paced music like poems being sung just makes me scream speed up,be louder, make some more noise, and vibrate these headphones.
There are a lot of music genres that a person can choose to listen to rap and R&B, rock, country, etc. The music genre that I prefer I listen to anytime or anywhere is that I am always in the mood want to listen to is country music.
Music has a big impact on my life, it is one of my favorite things in the world. My music library is so diverse, so it is hard for me to pick my favorite genre, from hip hop to rock to country. I find it all tasteful. If I had to say may favorite though it would be alternative rock, mostly because my favorite band is the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their bass lines are amazing, and their music has so much heart and emotion in it, it’s something that everyone can jam along to. My least favorite would have to be screamo, an off shoot of metal. It is just too angry and you cannot understand anything the singer is saying, it isn’t something that is easy for me to appreciate. The Hobbit is my favorite book, the ore behind it keeps me interested and the way it is written is a completely different style than today’s writing. The writing style almost seems archaic but it has an elegance to it that is extremely difficult to achieve.
I would choose to define alternative rock as music that has heavy metal influenced rhythms, with the use of electric guitars and bass drums, but conveys a lighter, upbeat feel, and uses meaningful lyrics. Alternative rock emerged in the late 80’s and early 90’s when the United States was facing an economic recession and in a post-war state. The songs alternative rock artists wrote during this time tended to be more melancholy in sound, and carry out the use of lyrics about the struggles society as a whole, and the artists as individuals were facing due to this social and economic decline. These lyrics were relatable for listeners and adequately helped them cope with the strife. These artists, more often than note were signed by more widely-known record labels. Examples of these bands include, but are not limited to, Radiohead, Sonic Boom, Cage The Elephant, Pearl Jam, Jane’s Addiction, and
One of my favourite bands of all time is Nirvana, because this was the first rock band I started listening to at the age of twelve and this established my taste of music until nowadays. However, they had a big influence on their contemporary pop-rock musical industry in the early nineties, as well. Despite the fact that they released only three studio albums in seven years, Nirvana is often regarded as one of the most influential, effective and remarkable rock bands of the century.
My interest in rock music began when a friend of mine first introduced me to a song by rock band Muse. At first I thought that it was just like any other songs as it was comprised of the same riff extended to about 4 minutes with a 2 minute guitar solo/bridge. However, as I continued to listen to the song over and over again, I grew to appreciate the heavy drumming, the distorted guitar riff and when I watched a few of their live performances of the song, I was astonished by the band synergy that they had. There’s just so much energy and passion put into every song they performed. Watching their performances inspired me to the point where I felt like
Imagine the day when you see your child’s report card, and all you see are As, and you are speechlessly staring at your child’s grades. Are you still waiting for that moment to come when you will be proud of your child for getting good grades? Have you ever wondered why your child has not been able to do well at school? It is possibly because your child has not been exposed to listening to music while studying. Listening to musiccould be the golden solution for your child. Students definitely need to be granted the freedom to listen music during classes. Listening to music while studying helps to keep one’s mind relaxed. It also helps in finishing work faster and in memorization.
With a great deal of different genres of music available for listening to, each genre must effect, shape, and allow for the expression of personality to be contrasting with each of the different genres of music that are available to us. In a recent study executed by Yair Neuman, Leonid Perlovsky, Yochai Cohen and Danny Livshits, from the Department of Education & Homeland Security Institute, based their experiment on “a very specific research question: Do personality types differ in terms of their essays’ similarity to the lyrics of various music genres?” (4). They set up their experiment to solely test whether a person’s personality can be directly affected by certain types of music. Their experiment concluded “…all results were statistically
Listening to all these music has introduced me to Playing guitar, Bass, listening for the melody, Taking a close observation of songs that interest me, look for interesting techniques, and listen for the complexity of the musical composition. My Introduction to rock music was actually the Beatles, but they really kept me in a little box when it came to what I wanted to hear besides the pop songs that I used to listen to as a child, who was mostly only exposed to rap and Hip Hop until the age of 8. Though the Beatles were really my first introduction to rock music, Billy Squier was the one that really gave me chance to break out of the little bubble I was in and explore more genres which I now have grown to love which are Rock, Metal, Blues, Alternative, Indie, Punk, Folk, Jazz, And If Played by the Fantastic Johnny Cash, Country. I have grown different views Than I had previously before when I’ve listened to music, now I tie it into more complex
