I am deeply honored to be nominated as part of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). It shows me that I have achieved my goal to work as hard as I can to stand out amongst my peers. I have always dedicated myself to be the best that I can be and anything I do, as well as helping and mentoring others to achieve their goals and aspirations. This organization does so much for our society in developing skilled careers and nurturing leaders. It has always been my goal to bring what I learn in school and bring it to help people out in everyday life to change, aspire, and help others in the world today.
I have several notable accomplishments, most of them are of academics. Some of the awards/accomplishments that I can recall ever since I was in middle school are: First position on spelling contest, department award for the most Helpful student, Student of the quarter, Presidential award for educational excellence (Gold Seal), 4.0 Honor roll, Indian Classical dance, Achieve3000 state winner, department award for “Excellence in English Language Acquisition,” and Academic Excellence Lettering Award. Among all these awards and recognition, I consider Achieve3000 to be the greatest because it was a state level competition and was moderately competitive to win. In the Achieve3000 program, basically, an individual has to compete with the students
The contest also marked the final game for LETU senior Jake Kennedy, who will graduate with his bachelor’s degree in business administration next Saturday. Kennedy played in 52 games over the last three-plus seasons where he played in nearly 1,000 minutes with 76 assists and 23 steals to his credit. In addition, he has been a two-time member of the ASC All-Academic
Imagine falling down the stairs in school with a broken leg. In the sixth grade a kid by the name of Devin tripped over his crutch and had fallen down the school stairs. For the first time ever on August 31st, 2016 i interviewed Devin Logan. Although the many roles of a business professor are difficult to determine, Mercer University’s mission statement provides a surprisingly thorough account of these roles. The mission statement, “to teach, to learn, to create, to discover, to inspire, to empower and to serve,” may not seem like a description of the roles, but one would struggle fruitlessly to think of a great business professor who did not fulfill these roles. The importance of these roles is undeniable, however, among these roles, learning is especially important and is also the most appealing to me. This appeal is due not only because learning is the precursor for other roles, but also because of my personal adoration of learning.
I am extremely honored to be selected as an eligible candidate for National Honor Society (NHS), which is based on four pillars of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character. When I was 11 years old, I saw my older brother walk across the stage to receive his NHS award. Ever since then, my ultimately goal is to follow his step and accomplish all the requirement while being a great leader and a respectful character by providing useful service. I believe NHS has done terrific things in the society by hard work and dedication therefore, I hope to play a part in providing great service to society. I hope to confirm their belief in my qualifications by addressing NHS values of academic excellence, leadership, service, and character.
I believe that I, Laura Benitez, deserve the Tim Acklin Award because I always intend to exceed the expectations that are given to me. I was raised and taught that going above and beyond is the only way to work. Whether it be in schoolwork or doing simple errands, working harder and doing more than is expected is what sets me apart from others. It is very easy to become idle and to find the easy way out, but I have aimed to always push myself and become engaged with stimulating groups of people. Throughout high school, I have held multiple leadership roles and committed to different activities. I was able to maintain these extra-curriculars, athletic training, and a GPA of 4.18. Even without official leadership positions, I always strive to be a helpful leadership position at work and especially in athletic training. I remember learning many skills from upperclassmen
Students are nominated by their teachers and guidance counselors, and are judged on their intellectual engagement, creativity, and commitment to community. I was presented this award at the annual academic awards.
Logan has demonstrated growing strengths in History this year. He has shown an avid interest in our Viking unit with a keen interest on the seafarers. Logan has demonstrated his ability to research using mediums such as the internet, library and the provided materials. In Geography, Logan has been looking at landforms and landscapes, where he is able to explain how volcanos can affect the earth. Logan is able to work independently and in groups, however he does need to be aware of off topic conversation. He is consistently involved in classroom discussions and can present his work in an oral and written format.
In my sixth and seventh grade years of middle school, I earned a Academic Gold L.E.A.F award which is awarded to those who are academically successful and show effort in their work throughout the school year. In order to receive this award, one needs to earn a Academic L.E.A.F award every quarter of the school year.
I have dedicated a lot of work and time to be where I am today. To finally be recognized is incredible. I appreciate the opportunity to be asked to be part of National Honors Society.
