Littering There are many trash cans and recycling units on the UTC campus, many people believe that students don’t have a problem throwing away their trash. Littering continues to be a problem on campus, as majority takes places in parking lots during weekends. Higher amount of litter takes place whenever there is athletic events and due to higher amount of visitors. Usually trash cans and recycling found around the dining halls, food courts and other places on campus, but our campus has more recycling cans than the regular trash cans. Most of the times, there is no such amount of recycling students have. Per the busy hours in the morning, afternoon and evening at crossroads and scrapy’s food court, there are not enough trash cans. This website Keep Tennessee Beautiful (KTnB) is an online web-teaching source for recycling. The KTnB’s goal is to encourage “Tennesseans to be more responsible for improving their community environment.” This website offers information to anyone interested in recycling and gardening with compost. There are benefits of recycling, such as bringing new life onto something old. As students of Columbia State Community College, we must be willing to fight for a cleaner healthier campus. We can set an example for the community by recycling. Students can make a website prompting our community garden and recycling center for information on what can and cannot be recycled, and how
Dirt could very well be the most important part of a balanced and nutritional diet. A serving of dirt is loaded with nutrients and will give you minerals that your body needs, even helping you lose weight as it helps reduce hunger pangs and contains no sugars or fats. Dirt can also help boost your immune system and help fight off parasites!
On October 21,2016, a group of students challenged the ASB/Leadership groups on campus to the beautification of Chino Hills High School on Husky Highlights in front of the entire school community. ASB and Leadership being the dedicated groups that they are accepted the challenge from the group of students on beautification of the campus. Chino Hills High School is a great school with an even more beautiful campus. However, some of our Husky students tend to leave their trash around. Students in different clubs and organizations have come to notice this and knew they had to do something about it. Students took action and awesomely decided to pick up trash and beautify the campus and featured it on Husky Highlights. To keep this movement going,
Pollution is an issue that could potentially cause damage and recycling conveys an important role. An issue we currently phase is trash segregation, students aren’t recycling or separating trash as they should. As mentioned earlier, mindset is just as important as action - they have careless, ignorant mentalities. What my project proposes, are two main part the action and the mentality transformation. The action idea is to develop as community service recicle trashcans with that from the outside look the same as what its entering in them, an example could be a trash can full that physically look like a plastic bottle, so students only troth there there plastic
Have you ever thought about what your community would look like without litter? If so, it may take a while to find out. One person throwing something on the ground may not think much of it, however, when that trash finds other trash, they begin to build up and make big piles of junk. For example, I am sure people never thought that if they littered, their trash would end up in the pacific garbage patch. Believe it or not, no one thinks that until you look at the pacific garbage patch and see how disgusting it looks just because people were to lazy to throw their trash away. To make matters worse, littering has become very common, which should be stopped because in most cases, trash is not disposed of properly,
“Awww Man i was having a great day until you showed up” That is the sound of when somebody hates me and i always ruin there day. I that one person when I show up to school I start to ruin there day by either Using physical assault, Stealing their stuff or I will start drama about you in school.
Living in an Illusion As Nicolas Chamfort said, “Pleasure may come from illusion, but happiness can come only of reality”. The idea of this is that illusions can only please a person for a short period of time, but reality is the only place where you can truly find happiness. This is expressed throughout Clive Barker’s The Thief of Always, which revolves around ten year old Harvey Swick, who is being eaten alive by The Great Gray Beast of February; In other words boredom. Yet what he does not realize, is that just beyond a wall covered in fog, there is a magical place called The Holiday House.
Taking care of your lawn is no small task. As your yard gets larger and more complicated your job only gets more and more difficult. You better have the right equipment, or you're going to be faced with brown, dead grass. Speaking of keeping your grass nice and green, what is the best fertilizer? Believe it or not, you can actually do pretty well for your lawn's health by using a mulching deck or getting a mower with mulching capabilities. The reason for this is the fact that when grass is cut it either goes into your bagger or back on the ground. If you just let it land on the ground, it smothers the live grass. That isn't good for anyone. However, if you get mulching accessories, the grass will be properly redistributed for maximum health.
I feel that these distinctions are important to Americans, only because they want to find someone to blame for economic and social issues. For instance, I have heard ignorant people state that Mexicans are the reason that Americans can’t find jobs. The reality is, that many act like they are too good to clean a toilet or do many of the jobs they are willing to do. Another ignorant statement is that Blacks are more likely to do crime, the reality is that our environment and other factors can influence someone behavior. Instead of finding a solution, we are trying to find someone to blame or prove that we are superior.
One of the most prominent issues in the American society is not an economic or social problem, but the lack of recycling in America and the effect it is having on the environment and the people. This lack of recycling can be found in businesses and schools across America who could benefit from some sort of recycling program installed. The benefits of a well placed and organized recycling program can be endless from scholarships to the benefits it can have on the environment by saving trees and reducing the space need to dispose all the trash. South Caldwell High School is one of these schools across the country that is at a loss because of its lack of a recycling program and many other schools and businesses in Caldwell county are not reaping
It’s well-known that the film Jurassic Park completely revolutionized cinema. Released in 1993 the special effects of this piece wowed audiences and had the film leaving award shows wildly successful. While the effects and cinematic mastery were ahead of its time the themes shown in the storyline have been explored in different media sources for ages. In Jurassic Park by Steven Spielberg viewers are invited to ponder the age old question involving power and actions. Just because someone has the ability to create life and change the world as we know it, does that mean that they have a duty or right to use those abilities?
Carelessness and laziness are two common factors that contribute to littering. We have a piece of trash in our hands and a trash can is in site, yet we decide to just throw it on the ground. Littering has become second nature even if it is unintentional. We assume that the trash we throw will eventually disappear into thin air and it won’t affect our surroundings. Little do we know that every little piece of trash thrown out the window all adds up. That small piece becomes a pile of trash that ends up clogging storm drains, contaminating water and endangering wildlife. According to McWhorter, “Sustainability involves conserving resources to prevent their depletion, protecting ecological processes, and eliminating waste and pollution, so as to ensure that our society’s pratices can continue and our civilization can endure” (p. 394).
I remember my first semester here at the University and the dark halls of the Bates House Residence Hall. Many a party was concluded with an idea for what to do with the endless piles of cans that had congregated on the floor. One idea, I remember, was to wall someone into his room and another was to see how many we could stand on end without toppling. But, we usually just ended up throwing them in the trashcans in our refuse room. Sometimes out of the five trashcans in the room set aside for trash disposal, three or four would be completely filled with hundreds of cans of various beverages. Upon further contemplation, I can also remember the small, blue bucket that was thrown

It is evident that even students of elite schools throw garbage on the ground even in the presence of garbage bins. This shows our attitude towards cleanliness and hygiene.
