Logical Reasoning
In computing – programming there is almost always more than one solution to a problem and this is where Logical Reasoning used to. The main use of Logical Reasoning is to anticipate the outcomes of the algorithms that are designed to solve a problem, to help select the best solution. Consequently Logical reasoning is the systematic application of rules to problem solving and task completion. These rules could be mathematical, logical, programming, grammatical, engineering, scientific, story construction in fact anybody of rules based around a logical system.
Logical Reasoning in Computer Science.
Logical reasoning is very important in all areas of knowledge of the curriculum but it is especially crucial for Computer Science as much of the design work is done in your head using programming to test these hypothesis. For primary computer science it means that pupils use an appropriate
Computer Science is a fast growing field and is currently in high demand. The world has gotten to the point where we all depend on computers, whether we like it or not. It has become a necessity to teach people how to program computers in order to meet the demands for this field. Computer Science should be a graduation requirement in American high schools because of its impact on critical thinking and an individual’s future financial opportunities.
A greater percentage of the test focuses on Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning as these are ideal indicators for a child's logical processing. These thinking skills are not tutored in schools and therefore, are a fair playing ground for those who have attended mediocre schools.
Chapter 1 of James MacCormick’s book, Nine Algorithms That Changed The Future, provides an overview of what an algorithm is and introduces the reader of the algorithms that will be discussed throughout the book. An algorithm is a precise recipe that specifies the exact sequence of steps required to solve a problem (MacCormick, 3). Algorithm requires a sequence of steps that contain the instructions on what to do. One of the key elements of an algorithm is to have a set of rules in order to perform the mathematical calculations. Another feature of algorithms is that it always works. Computer science describes how to solve a problem using an algorithm. The main purpose of the book is to explain the algorithms one’s computer uses everyday
Processing Logic – The logic used in this program is based on Iif- Tthen statements. From the begging in of the program the season input will enact a series of Iif-T then statements that the one that happens to be true for that input will then move the program to the appropriate module. Within the modules each question has iIf t-Then and eElse statements stating that if the home owner makes a certain input the program will calculate the out put.

In the Army, there is a process that is very useful for finding a solution to many different problems. This process is called, “The Army problem solving process”, which is a seven-step process to come up with a solution to a problem. The first step in this process is to identify the problem. Once the problem has been identified, the next step is to gather information. It would be best to identify the pros and cons of the situation. The next step is to develop criteria. This is the perfect time to consider a possible solution, which brings us to the next step, generate a possible solution. This time, possible solutions are taken into consideration and comparing each of them. This is called analyzing and comparing the solution. Finally, in the last step, a decision is made and implemented. Unfortunately, there are some potential impediments that may interfere with the Army problem solving process. One perfect example would be, “The Tyranny of Choice” which is when there are so many choices that may interfere with the decision making process. The Army problem solving
Another pro, is how the SAT also requires students to use a combination of knowledge and various steps to complete questions. “This provides a solid indicator of how the student performs and how strong his deductive skills are.”( Webb). This display of skills can be very valuable to students when applying to colleges as well as to college’s perceptions of the student’s college
I acquired knowledge through this presentation. This group used analyzing, information seeking and logical reasoning critical thing process on this presentation. Analyzing A.P 8 year old kid’s behavior related to itching on case study is a good point to plan of care of patient. And also this group considered age of children for safety method to prevent spread lice. Group 3 made plan of care based on information. They looked information about lice and how to prevent, what medication needs for treatment, etc. And this group expects to remove lice from A.P using medication, and dry bedding and cloth with iron and dry. This is one of logical thing process. These all critical thing process needs for quality of care and patient’s safety. This writer
Permanent storage devices are nonvolatile—that is, their contents are persistent and are retained even when power is lost.
George J. Kilr and Bo Yuan [32] Fuzzy logic is a way to formalize the human decision capacity of imprecise reasoning, or approximate reasoning. Such type of reasoning represents the human ability to find out the reason approximately and judge
In today’s fast paced technologically savvy society, everyone wants the most advanced technology, this thirst for the next big thing is what makes technology fields the fastest changing and growing sectors. In countless movies, television shows, and novels, there is a representation of a humanoid character that is in fact a machine functioning and learning new skills with artificial intelligence. The problem with these shows is that the representation of modern day artificial intelligence is largely skewed, these machines have personalities and emotions making them relatable to humans when they are still just a very elaborate computer program. Artificial intelligence is the cognitive ability to solve problems, recognize patterns, and have
“A logic model is nothing more than a concept map that visually describe the logic of how your program is suppose to work” (Grinnell, Gabor, Unrau, & Grinnell,
Every day individuals are faced with many different problems for example deciding what to wear, finding a suitable place to park your car or even completing an assignment. Whatever the problem is, ‘problem solving is defined as any goal-directed sequence of cognitive operations’, as suggested by Anderson (1980, p.257).
The purpose of this report is to give information on the subject known as Logical reasoning and its use in Computer Science and computers in general. A historical background behind logic and Logical reasoning is firstly given, followed by an overview of the modern subject and the types it’s divided into. The types are then explained. The overlap between the field of logic and that of computer science is also given an explanation. The report ends with a brief overview on the subject and its tie to computer science and computing.
What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? Probably grabbing your cell phone to scroll down the screen to look at those social media apps? This is how science slowly taking over our lives without us even knowing it. If you start to pay close attention, examples are everywhere; from we replacing the noisy old school alarms with cell phone alarms that we can customize any music to it, to letting computer almost running the entire company. The changes that computer science has brought to us are in creditably beneficial, crucial, and tremendous.
