London Shooting Research Paper

In the D.C, Baltimore area, two people, John Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo drove around on a shooting spree that killed and inflicted terror on many people. The spree lasted from October 2nd, 2002 until October 24th.

“GET DOWN!.... SHHH!!!!.... GET DOWN! GET INTO A ROOM AND LOCK IT!!!!” This is the first thing our opposite crew heard as they walked into the ER with a patient last month. Should this crew have recognized the signs of an active shooter? Is walking into a hospital with an active shooter even a real concern? From 2000-2012, there were 154 hospital related shootings in the United States with 235 injuries or deaths. That’s more than 1 shooting a month. As QIC I will implement parts of the “Active Shooter Preparedness” from United States Homeland Security. Knowing exactly what Emergency Action Plans our hospitals have in place will help us know how to recognize and react to possible active shooter situations. Scene safety is constant with EMS.

On December 14th, 2012, 20 students and six adults where shot at the Sandy Hook Elementary School. The name of the killer is Adam Lanza. First, he killed his mother after taking her guns from her house, and then shot down the Sandy Hook Elementary School. Although, this was a very terrifying period, the teachers and staff handled it very well.

In 2002 random snipers attack started to happen. No one knew where the shoots came from till a blue caprice kept appearing after each shooting which lead to the capture of two male shooters John Allen Muhammad(Williams) 42, Lee Boyd Malvo 17 were brought into custody at 3:15AM on October 24, 2002.

Gunmans in Mass shootings such as Stephen Paddock was the shooter on October 1, 2017 When he opened fire during a show he had killed 59 people and injured 527 people. All three texts share a common theme on mass shootings while using the research, findings, and published works of Professor Adam Lankford. Each of the texts uses the rhetorical aim Inform and Explain due to all three texts being presented in a expository manner. These texts fit the definitions and criteria for Inform and Explain as they are confident which is shown by making the purpose of the paper known early on and the continued stream of confidence throughout all three texts. On December 20, 1968, David Authur Faraday and Betty Lou Jensen were shot to death. Six months later, July 5, 1969, Darlene Elizabeth Ferrin and Michael Renault Mageau were shot in Blue Rock Springs Park in Benicia(Wark,1). When the killer approached them, they thought he was a police officer because he had a flashlight aimed towards them.Mageau was reaching for his ID when the killer started shooting. The killer shot at Mageau first, hitting him in the face and body(Wark,1). Since the killer was close to them, the bullets went through his flesh and into Darlene. Michael moved himself to the back seat and got shot in the knee. The killer then shot Darlene in both of her arms and in her back as she tried to turn away(Wark,1). We are deeply saddened by the tragic shootings last night in downtown Dallas, the loss of life of so many police officers, and injury to officers and citizens. It is a horrific reminder of the brokenness of our world and its need for prayer and healing.

In America, average citizens are subjected to mass shootings that are becoming more frequent and deadlier. A major underlying cause of these fatal mass shootings is the corruption in America’s mental health system. The government has provided stricter gun reforms and “stricter” gun control laws as a possible solution to this problem. Despite the government's efforts to eradicate this problem, mass shootings are still a major threat to society because guns are easily accessible to people who will use them in the wrong way. The government needs to take action such as making more gun laws focusing on mental health, more health educational campaigns, making more resources available that focus on coping skills for anger and conflict resolution

Admittedly, the amount of mass shootings in America is still going on onto this day, as last week, California had a recent one, carried out by a couple with assault grade weapons. Thus, this topic was brought up countless time on the news, what could be done. I believe pretending is part of the problem. These things happen over and over again and yet we do nothing and pretend it won’t happen again. Changing nothing and then believing something will change is a ludicrous ideology. This same ideology is being used by many Americans, we are given examples of other place throughout the world on how they turn their country gun problem around, similar to Australia, yet we pretend we don’t notice just like we pretend we don't notice our country's

Over the last decade or so, the United States of America has been shaken by an epidemic of terrifying mass shootings, devastating slayings of unexpecting victims, and unnerving annihilations of the innocent. There is no specific target, no explicitly sought-out group, nor definite individual. On july 18, 1984 There was a massacre in San Ysidro, California. The shooting took place at a nearby McDonald's. James Huberty is responsible for the massacre. He killed 22 people and injured 19 others. James was later on killed by the SWAT. I believe his wife said that james might have had some psychological problems.

On May 25 at the Noblesville school in Indiana, there was a school shooting,which is the twenty third gun related incident that has happened on school grounds in 2018. A male student open fired in a seventh grade classroom just after 9AM injuring another student and a teacher. The student was a thirteen year old girl named Ella Whistler and she is said to be in critical condition but she is stable. The teacher was twenty nine year old Jason Seaman.He was released from the hospital this past Saturday.

This incident in called the Sandy Hook Shooting. This was a day where kids went to school not knowing they would not come home. Many innocent children lost their lives in this incident. None of them ever knew what would happen on one Friday night. “At about 9:30 a.m., as announcements were read over the loudspeaker to the student's, shots were heard across the school. Students described being ushered into bathrooms and closets by teachers after hearing the first shots.” No young kid or anyone else should have to witness anything about this type of situation. “Lanza moved toward two classrooms of kindergartners and first-graders, police said. In one classroom was Lauren Rousseau, a substitute teacher who was filling in for a teacher out on maternity leave. As stated before mass shootings have increased drastically throughout the decades. Just within 2017, the number of mass shootings are 293 with several deaths and injuries, (“Gun Violence Archive”). Within the last 10 years, the deadliest mass shootings have occurred in America history, (CNN). Recently in Las Vegas, Nevada held a music festival for people to enjoy and listen to music, but a shooting changed the evening for many. A man was in an hotel near the event and shot down towards the people and killed a total of 58 people and injured at least 200, (CNN). The Orlando shooting was right behind it with a total of 49 dead, (CNN). Since this has become a part of our everyday lives, we rarely hear about all the mass shootings that kill not even into the double digits.
