Many connect the beauty of America with its American dream, which includes feeling financially secure, having the freedom to live the way one wants, being able to retire at 65, owning a home, and believing that hard work pays off. The connection between America and the American dream is strongly related to each other based on the interpretation of the media to the ideals taught in school. Nowadays, a majority of the American population believes that the American dream is dead. In other words, many Americans believe that America is dying by straying away from its original beliefs that the American dream is still achievable for today’s living generations. This is true, because both America and the American dream are dying by transforming and straying away from its traditional values. The American dream from the 19th century compared to that of the 20th century is very different from each other, such as the American dream in the 21st century. This is because every new generation in America creates their own American dream. As a result, the American dream is transforming in order to fit with today’s modern standard or greater equality among race, gender, and sexuality. Similarly, the laws in America are constantly changing due to each newer generation becoming more prevalent and influential on how the government runs. As the older generations begin to die and the newer generations grow up, the more popular opinions reflect on the greater represented generations of the total American population. Therefore, media reflects on these growing popular opinions of the newer generations, thus placing more pressure on politicians to create or change laws in order to appease the majority of the population, or else protests would
