“Life is unfair”, a statement everyone knows. Life is different from one person to another, creating different people as an outcome. That person or outcome determines where we fit in other people’s lives. Lotso from Toy Story 3, is an outsider because he was seen as the villain since he prevented other people (or toys) from their happiness. According to Michael Arndt’s screenplay, “Daisy loves us all, but… Lotso was special. … [Their] worst fears come true … The forgotten toys remained … Lotso wouldn’t give up. It took forever. … by then, it was too late. … beside [Daisy was] a brand-new Lotso Bear. …” (Arndt 73-74). This proves Lotso is an outsider because he was beloved, but he was left behind and forgotten, replaced by another bear, leaving
The LEGO Movie is one of the most successful animated movies in the United States. The movie seems to be just a typical, comedy animation; but, since it is made of LEGO pieces, the favorite building toys of all time, it attracts every kid who loves or plays these colorful bricks. The movie is considered one of the most influential children’s films of the year, and it carries many important messages. The story is happening mainly in the LEGO world where people live their life based on the instructions they are given. They do the same thing, sing the same song, and follow every trend possible. Although The LEGO Movie is a kiddy movie with good humor and decent message, it satirizes typical natures of today’s society where many people lost their
When we see fictional characters, right away we think of the way they look or if they have something a little unreal about them. We are quick to judge those things and assume that these characters are nothing like us and completely make-believe. Yet If we were to really get to know a character we would see that in some way they are based off traits of real-life people. I think there are many reasons as to why people connect with fictional characters, one being that they remind us of ourselves. Situations we have been in, things we like about ourselves, things we don't like and others around us. The three fictional characters that most represent my personality are Jessie from Toy Story for her friendliness, Snow White from Snow White for her sincerity, and Sam Puckett from iCarly for her sarcasm and humor.
Pixar’s Inside Out is an interesting take on how our emotions work as well as how our brains operate. The story starts off with a narration by Joy, voiced by Amy Poehler, explaining how her job works, and how she and the other emotions came to be inside the mind of young Riley Anderson. The emotions watch and guide Riley by influencing how she reacts to different daily situations. The only thing the emotions are not prepared for however, is an unexpected move from Minnesota to San Francisco (Inside Out). This hilarious take at how our brains work allows Inside Out to create an entertaining and engaging movie using character interaction and its deeper emotional and psychological meanings.
The animated motion pictures Toy Story and Shrek use an array of underlying messages and themes to provoke emotion within the observer. Mutually, Toy Story and Shrek use the same theme of friendship to promote the importance of maintaining healthy relationships with those individuals surrounding you. The technique of characterisation is used vigorously within each film, as it helps viewers to feel connected to the characters, and understand the underlying messages. Each film is used to present the importance of friendship; showcasing the effects that companionship can have on individuals. In the film Shrek, the protagonist Shrek is used to exude a hostile dismay toward companionship, and showcases the negative effects relationships can have on you. Shrek is compelled by his resentment and loneliness in life, and takes that out on

Obviously, “Toy Story” is made for children, but it is most certainly not about children. The movie lively reflects a variety of social issues that are day-by-day affecting many aspects of young adults‘ lives in many different ways.

The very best Pixar films aren’t just children’s movies with references and touchstones to keep the adults interested; they’re ambitious, complex, deeply layered movies for grown-ups that happen to be populated with characters, colors and primary stories that appeal to children as well.
The rules for a surprise ending are that the director must give the audience a little bit of information. The director will give subtle hints that will keep the audience guessing about the ending. If a director gives to much information out it can make a film boring. Sometimes it’s vital to delete certain scenes because it could ruin the already good ending or anything else in the movie.

When Dumbo is told how silly he looks and is kept away from the other elephant children, he realizes that he is physically different and develops a low self esteem. Dumbo is then lost and lead by a circus mouse to never give up. The circus mouse says, “Never let go of who you are meant to be. It’s an advantage, take it.” As an attempt to fully devote awareness to the group, the circus mouse tries to convince the others that Dumbo is special in his own way, but not too far off from everyone else. Dumbo then tries his best to fit in and take advantage of his special qualities. Misconception leads to misunderstanding because one is apart of society’s expectations and assumptions, not focusing on their own speciality. Misunderstanding, as the theme, is illustrated by the symbolism in Dumbo, the metaphor in “Self-Reliance,” and the misunderstanding of being unique to an immutable society in both pieces. Having three young children has meant that, rather quickly, child-related items have taken over my home. Favorite foods, clothes in every size possible, and toys, toys, toys have managed to appear in every room in the house (though I don't remember putting them there). Of all the extra items we've accumulated over the years, toys have been the biggest culprit. Though we try to restrict their locations and don't overbuy for our girls, there's still a lot of stuff in our house. If you have small children, you may be fighting the toy clutter, too. Don't be buried by your children's toys. Designate one area for toys. Of course, there will be toys brought down from bedrooms, or the occasional game or puzzle done in the living room, but one of
The animated film, Wreck-it Ralph, directed by Rich Moore, follows the adventures of a “bad guy” by the name of Ralph as he looks to distinguish himself as more than a bad guy in the sense of the word. The move takes place inside of a video game called “Wreck-it-Ralph”, located in a larger arcade store filled with customers. Wreck-it-Ralph is a game where Ralph is designed as a muscular freak with only one purpose in his life, to destroy and damage a high-rise apartment in the game, that is until Fix-it-Felix comes in and saves the day. In the eyes of the viewer, Ralph is the villain who looks to destroy the building, and the player takes control of Felix in order to fix Ralph’s wrong-doings. What becomes apparent to the viewer rather quickly is that Ralph is no stereotypical “bad guy”, and he wishes to be known for more than the guy who just destroys the building, and who is cast off as a menace to those inside the game. In a very Toy-Story like design, the characters inside the video games become alive when the arcade store shuts down for the day, and customers leave. Its at this point characters gather together for drinks, nights out or in Ralphs case, a support group for bad guys trying to deal with the stresses and difficulties of being bad. Looking to prove himself, Ralph eventually leaves his game as he looks to find a better identity for himself as opposed to his bad guy label, as chaos ensues.
