The Purchase of Louisiana posed several important moral dilemmas for American President Thomas Jefferson; among these were the means of achieving Republican government states’ rights and strict constructionism which he relented. Constructionist and a strong supporter of states ' rights and, therefore, the action of purchasing Louisiana presented a moral dilemma, he was either to stick to his principle or compromise and save the Republican government. President Jefferson believed following the principles of constructionism and the rights of the constitution, therefore acquiring Louisiana land made him unable to decide whether to uphold the principles compromise (Balleck).

“What! No! Why!?” Without a doubt, these words have been exalted by many candidates during the competitive transfer process at UW-Madison. Although I was denied transfer admission, I cannot but respect the decision I was given. However, I believe that UW-Madison has not seen the full extent of me. My topic is the Louisiana Purchase and why people wanted Louisiana, the hardships of getting the area for the USA, and what happened after the purchase. The Louisiana Purchase was a monumental change to the United States Of America, but there were struggles that you might not have known about.

The Louisiana Purchase is the biggest exchange of land in history. Jefferson’s acquisition of this big piece of land doubled the United States’ size for 15 million dollars. The Louisiana Purchase would have not happen without Napoléon’s loss of interest in the french american empire. At the time, Thomas Jefferson was in office,the president’s political beliefs opposed this to happen, what convinced him? As the United States started to expand, gaining alliance with the most powerful forces on the planet, business and influence started to flourish. New Orleans became the most diverse place in the country both socially and politically.

One of the most obvious themes throughout the Scarlet Letter, is alienation. Alienation can be forced or chosen but always changes you. Alienation was shown mainly in three characters throughout the book, Hester Prynne, Pearl, and Dimmesdale. Hester Prynne is alienated many times throughout this book At the very beginning of the book we learn that Hester Prynne has been alienated by her husband, Roger Chillingworth, who has sent her off to live on her own in the new world. Although Chillingworth says he will come back to be with her it takes longer than expected.

The third major event on the United States is the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson. Is one of the most important documents ever wrote it, was a document that gave hope to people that someday everyone would be free. The Preamble contains probably the most famous lines of the Declaration of why independence was necessary for example “we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.” (Boyer 159). The Preamble states that there are certain rights that government should never violate. I am writing to inform you about reconsidering the removal of American Indians from their homelands. This removal could cause multiple problems between the United States and the Indians. A harmful war can occur between the nations and could kill innocent lives. According to Ronnie Cummings of In Motion Magazine, after several dozen consumers in Colorado were poisoned by E-coli feces in their burgers, 25 million pounds of hamburger meat had to be recalled from the Hudson Foods Corporation. Much of the E. coli found in meat appears to be a product of feedlot life of cattle getting a feedlot diet and living in their own manure.
