Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare has been a world famous play for years. Romeo and Juliet are known as star-crossed lovers by the public eye. The play is about two young adults that are part of two families who have a rivalry. Romeo and Juliet meet at a party and instantly believe they are in love. Their love is forbidden, but they claim it is too strong to be broken. The next day a secret wedding takes place Shortly after the wedding, Romeo kills Juliet's cousin and is banished from their city. Juliet fakes her death because she wants to be with Romeo. Romeo kills himself to be with Juliet because he is unaware that Juliet is not dead. Juliet wakes up too late, and has no other choice but to kill herself to be with Romeo. Romeo and Juliet’s love happened too fast, love that happens too quickly leads to a lack of understanding the other person and someone second-guessing their feelings. Juliet did not completely understand how she felt about Romeo. According to Anne Bradstreet love is worth “more than whole mines of gold” (5). Bradstreet is a poet that speaks of how deeply she loves her husband. In her eyes, love is the most important thing in the world. If this is so, then someone should know if they are in love. Juliet was unsure how she felt about Romeo. Juliet believed that their love was “too rash, too unadvised, to sudden” (Shakespeare 2.2.118). Romeo responded by telling her that he was unsatisfied. Juliet went on to say that she did love Romeo. Very quickly
Person A is in love. He feels tremendous, blessed, cheerful, and truthful. This person believes he can go an extended amount of time without talking to his “lover” because he’s assured that despite absence, nothing will change.
Love is an emotion many-if not all- desire for in their life, but should a person’s past flings call that love into question? Romeo had strong feelings for two different people in Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, one being Rosaline and the other being Juliet. Romeo’s feelings for Rosaline were more of an infatuation than love, but this does not weaken the credibility of his love of Juliet. There are three reasons that must be taken into account when talking about the connection between his infatuation with Rosaline and his love for Juliet. Many people have infatuations at some point in their lives before they meet someone they truly love, he learns many things from his infatuation that help to deepen his
Romeo’s love for Juliet is caused in an instant but there substantial build up to what they feel for each other. Romeo previously loved Juliet’s cousin Rosaline. I believe the love he feels for her is true and as strong as what he feels for Juliet even if he would not admit it. If Rosaline had felt the same as Juliet did than this entire fiasco would’ve been avoided. Romeo once said when describing his love for Rosaline “Love is a smile made with the fume of sighs, Being Purged, a fire sparkling in lovers’ eyes, Being vexed, a sea nourished with loving tears.” this is quite similar to how he has described his love for Juliet, “It is the was and Juliet is the sun. Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon”. I believe this proves that Romeo is just falling in love with the first women he meets in a bathroom.
Very quickly, Romeo’s outlook on love surprisingly changes. After being practically forced to attend the party, Romeo spots Juliet in the crowd. Instantly, Romeo says “Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight, for I ne’er saw true beauty till this night” (1.5.59-60). Romeo not only completely forgets about the constant depression he faced the same way, which he stated would never happen, but he also is quite hypocritical regarding his opinion on love. Rather than being rough, painful, rude, and all of the other negative descriptions he provided, Romeo blindly says that his love for Juliet makes him feel intrigued. Love’s complexity is exemplified through how quickly one man’s view on it can change. One moment, Romeo hated the idea of love, and just later that day admired it and found it overtaking him with happiness. Overall, this proves love is definitely not constant, nor does it convey similar emotions all of the
Romeo and Juliet is a play about two star-crossed teenage lovers. They are from opposing families; Romeo is a Montague and Juliet is a Capulet. Finally, he calls out to her, and they talk, him on the ground her in her balcony. After talking they decide to get married. Romeo rushes off to make the arrangement for their wedding. Only days after the wedding Romeo is banished from Verona for the murder of Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin, and only days after that Romeo and Juliet take their own lives. Romeo did first believing Juliet had died, however, she was only in a death-like sleep. She woke up and saw her beloved Romeo dead and stabbed herself with his dagger. Although they chose to take their own lives I believe Romeo’s friend Mercutio is most to blame for the two lovers deaths.

Love is discovered in the most unthinkable places during the most unimaginable times. The affection between Romeo and Juliet was not genuine, rather it was lustful. This is because Romeo fell in love immediately when he first laid eyes on Juliet. Romeo and Juliet were also too young to find true love, and they only met each other a couple of times. To start off, Romeo was shattered about the fact Rosaline left him. He thought that Rosaline was his “true love”. In act 1 scene 1 of Romeo and Juliet, line 158, Romeo says “Out of her favor, where I am in love”. In other words, Romeo is saying that he loves her but she does not. However, when Romeo saw Juliet at the Capulet party, he instantly fell in love and had erased all other thoughts from his mind. Romeo cherished Juliet’s body and did not bother to look at her personality.
