Love Revealed In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet

Love is an intense feeling of deep affection or a sexual attachment to someone. In Romeo and Juliet, a love story by William Shakespeare talks about a couple whose families are in a feud with each other. In the prologue, it states that “ a pair of star-crossed lovers take their life” and “ doth with their bury their parents’ strife.” This means that a pair of a couple together by their brightness or looks take their life ending their families’ feud. In the story, both Romeo and Juliet knew that they are in families who are feuding against each other but continues to love despite the people around warning them. Tybalt then kills Mercutio, enraged by his death Romeo decided to kill Tybalt resulting in a banishment from Verona. Juliet then decided to drink a vial that put her into slumber for 42 hours to escape marriage with Paris. Romeo did not get the letter from Friar Laurence about the plan with Juliet, so when he heard about Juliet’s death he drank poison next to her grave. This means that there is a chance that both families will break out into a war against each other. This is because it had already happened like when the servants, Benvolio, and Tybalt were fighting at the square of Verona.(I,i 55-67) Another example of their love being unstable is when Tybalt challenge Romeo to a duel. In the story, it talks about “Tybalt, the kinsman to old Capulet, hath sent a letter to his father’s house. A challenge, in my life.”(II,vi 6- 9) This could mean trouble because fighting is prohibited. But they fought because Mercutio died. After killing Tybalt, Romeo was banished. In the story the Prince said, “ and all for that offense immediately we do exile him hence.”(III,i 179-180) In the end, Romeo was banished and wanted to kill himself because he will never see
