I’m writing a review on (Chris Botti and "rock star" violinist Lucia Micarelli perform the moving "Emmanuel" in Botti's new PBS special, premiering February 28 on PBS (YouTube). This performance is both breathe taking and spectacular. The first minute of listening to this concert made me imagine this song was in a motion picture that I’ve heard before. This song is the one playing in the background as the movie starts to come on but I can’t think of what movie, of sounds like a significant part of the eighties motion pictures that were aired back in those times. is extremely stunning and stellar it sends chills down my spine. When tuning in to this music it took me back to the eighties.
I envisioned myself as a youngster reading a good book and going on a fun and energizing voyage. Each time I tune in to this performance, this show truly influences me to cry joyfully. Listened a few times again to this music

This splendid course of action uplifts each sense and dives deep into my spirit. The ability of the artists who teamed up on this organization is astounding, this music is lovely past any words in the lexicon. This gem of music lifts the audience to another level of thankfulness; I would shyly prescribe everybody to tune in to this show. Who could hate this show? Unquestionably, superior to the music from these days. Basically stunning, I can listen this sounds over and over. This is a standout amongst the loveliest exhibitions I have ever found in life! Much obliged to you, Chris, and Lucia! Much obliged to you! Total most loved music that animates all parts of your body and brain, those strings, those strings drain my spirit and render me confused floating unendingly through. Lucia Micarelli is my violin champion and motivation. She plays so enthusiastically and with such crude feeling but on the other hand is so in fact precise. Furthermore, this two-part harmony with Chris Botti just influences my heart to
For the final presentation for this course, I am going to analyze one of my favorite songs, Ave Maria by Josquin des Prez. Each year around this time, my parents always took me to an ensemble shows in my town and this song was always one of the most popular songs. There are many different versions of Ave Maria by various composers in different timeline. However, I personally favor Josquin’s version of Ave Maria the most because this piece gives the vibe of Mary I always thought of; calm, bright, and magnificent rather than slow and intimidating vibe that few other Ave Maria by different composers gives. Also, I recommended this piece to my choir teacher and we sang this piece in a competition; it includes all four spectrum of soprano, alto,
I still watch every performance, listen to the perfect translation of emotion into music and music into emotion. Even if it’s the same program, I listen. Take mental notes. Scrutinize the flutes’ posture, the trumpets’ embouchure, and the percussionists’ transitions. There is nothing that ever goes wrong.
Martha and the Vandellas was a female vocal group and one of the first groups signed by Motown Records. Big in the 1960’s and 1970’s, they were probably best known for their song “Dancing in the Street” which has been covered by numerous artists since. Though one of their less popular songs, “I Should Be Proud”, stands out to this day as an anti-war song which voiced a disagreement with the war- particularly regarding civil rights issues at the time.
This social issue has been in the spotlight for quite some time now and is the leading cause for students to miss school, become less social, cause self harm and even in some cases death. Bullying and harassment are commonly seen for the most part amongst teenagers who face issues at school, not only does this happen here in the United States, but in schools universally. ¨17% of American students report being bullied 2 to 3 times a month or more within a school semester¨ (Valerie). Although this is mostly seen among teens it can also happen between children and even adults. Bullying can occur everyday throughout Madera High School and no one would be able to acknowledge or stand up for the victim. Vice Principals at MHS have said that more
have been well showcased in this difficult piece. These pieces are seen as challenges for many modern singers as well. It goes to show just how talented and well trained the performers were.
Besides John Armstrong’s son are a handful of professional-level students more than qualified to meet the challenges and expectations with interpreting John Armstrong’s compositions. The challenges for these performers include exploring atmospheric colours and timbres while showing the overall narrative and dramatic flow of the piece. Like every composer, John Armstrong only asks his performers “to make me sound good!” and the line-up of performers on November 5th will most certainly be apt to the
The Texas Revolution and The Mexican Cession are both significant events in our Nation’s history because it increased the size of the United States by about 500,000 square miles. It also united two different cultures and people into one unified nation. The causes of the Texas Revolution were that Texas wanted to be able to have slaves as well as representatives in the Mexican government.
The music passes a feeling of delight, showing the respect and admiration these adventurous musicians have for the repertoire, even if they’re mostly known for different voyages, certainly less accessible yet widely exciting.
Music can play a big role in our lives. It can be remembrance of a special times and times in hardships. Music can be a language without words because it’s so powerful and you can see their feelings or emotions in that one song. That can be one way of how we can have connection with another person. It also bring us together like there is a party and everyone just sitting on the couch but when they start to play music, we grab our friends and we start to dance with new people. Music is a big part of people. A song call “Realize” by Calbie cailat play a big part of my life. The tempo of the song is slow and have sad emotion in it. This was when my family just got to America in Charlotte, North Carolina. We cannot speak English at that time but we still enjoy
Watching this performance was the most inspirational and admiring show that I have ever seen. The amount of work each and everyone of this students put into their work was unexplainable. Each dance told a story. Two of my favorites were “Sistas of Sorrow “ and “527”. They both expressed a powerful story that was just breath taking. With their customs that perfectly gave you feel of the time that the story was taking place.
Although Jan Van Eyck was one of the most influential artists during his time period, his work, Lucca Madonna is fairly unknown. Whilst researching Jan Van Eyck the work rarely appeared unless one research specifically the name.
I found this piece very interesting; it tells a clear story, and has a dissonant accompanist which makes it sound stylistically similar to the music of musical theatre.
The death penalty has been a controversial topic for years, being a maximum punishment, giving to a person committing a horrible crime no choice but death. Though death penalty does have a small impact in the way, people think after committing a crime. It does not make a criminal pay their sentence because they executed them and the victim’s family are abandon
On Friday November 3rd I had the pleasure of attending an evening of Opera titled Love Through the Ages with Maria Fortuna and Nancy Townsend at the Sean O’Sullivan Theatre. Having never been to an Opera performance I had no idea of what to expect and was looking forward to this new experience. Fortuna was accompanied by multi-faceted pianist Nancy Townsend. These two musicians showed tremendous expertise and were able to keep my attention through the extent of the program.
The music played throughout all of the concerts adhered to be diverse. The instruments, the individuals performing, and the conductor all proved to be outstanding. The concerts proved to be interesting as I witnessed them, first hand.
