Lucid Dreaming Imagine this: You’re laying down to go to sleep the night before one of the biggest chemistry tests of your life. Your future depends on the grade. You know that if you stay awake for any longer, you won’t be able to stay awake for the test. But, you still don’t have all of the important polyatomic ions memorized. It’s kind of a lose-lose situation; you can either be awake to fail the test, or you can fall asleep and fail it. If only there was a way to study in your dreams, right? I know what you’re probably thinking, “there’s no way” or “this is so fake, and can’t be proven.” However, yes way; and surprisingly, it already has been proven in the Nature Neuroscience Journal. …show more content…

Think about what you would like to accomplish in your dream. Maybe you want to relive a good experience, or study for a test, or try something new like flying. Whatever it is, think of all of the important details that you want to see in your dream. Make sure while doing so, that you’re laying down on your back, eyes closed, in complete darkness, free of any distractions.
5. Once you feel yourself in a dream, say aloud “I’m dreaming” and you’re free to do as you please. Try flying, or doing something you can’t usually do.
Lucid dreaming might not happen on your first attempt, but with practice it is possible for anyone at any age to do.
There are a few different types of purposes and experiences involved with lucid dreaming. Aside from studying, people can lucid dream to practice presentations, get rid of nightmares, face fears of conflict by mapping out the situation before hand, or just to experience things otherwise not possible in the real world.
One of the main reasons that people choose or try to lucid dream is to experience new things. In lucid dreams there is absolutely nothing that you cannot do.
