The movie stars a handful of “B” actors and stage actors trying to make a farm house a temporary safe haven while they figure out if and where there is a safer place to go to. This film is about graham testing his faith in god. Colleen, his wife, was in a car accident. She was stuck between a truck and a tree, her body was literally in half. She should be dead but obviously god kept her around so she could wait until graham came to say good bye. When graham came to say goodbye she tells him things he is going to need to know the day the alien attacks. Throughout the whole movie, Bo, his daughter had a problem
The film?s setting was in present and past scenarios, which made it very interesting. As the old man Duke read the story, in a past plot, and the story began to climax, he would be interrupted by someone in the nursing staff, bringing them back to the present. This lineup of events leads to a sense of curiosity as I began to wonder what these two plots have in relation. This curiosity will soon be fulfilled as the story develops, and the two plots start to intertwine.
The movie starts with an older, wiser version of Gordie Lachance (Richard Dreyfuss) reminiscing of the good times, in particular the summer of 1959, he had with his childhood friend Chris Chambers. Cultural Issues in My Big Fat Greek Wedding I choose My Big Fat Greek Wedding because it is one of my favorite movies and I believe I can relate somehow to this movie since I come from a minority background. Even though the movie was done with some extra humor and exaggerating some aspects of both cultures, the movie has a lot of truth with what America experiences in the present time because in a multiracial country you constantly have to experience the difference each cultures lives and expresses their beliefs. This movie describes perfectly how shocking it could be from one culture to interact with the other without leaving their ideologies and their prejudice of the other culture. This romantic comedy is about a single Greek descendant woman.
The movie's script was written by Walter Hill and inspired by the writings of Denis Hamill.
Let’s begin with a brief summary of the film. The film follows a young man who is working in the factory trying to keep up with technology but ends of losing his mind.
journey of navigating dating, marriage, and divorce. The movie starts off showing a couple that are wanting to get married, but as the culture requires the groom must meet the parents to ask for their blessing to marry their daughter. The man didn’t seem to digest the soup well and had to escape the bathroom where we met the teenage boy who thought he was in love. When in class he heard, a poem written by a girl who he knew he had to record just to listen to her voice. After some careful editing, he taped over a new tape asking her to wear a white dress that she wore to the mall. When the girl fell asleep with the tape still on, her mother listens to it, finding that instead of the tape being a lovely mixtape is instead a tape recorded by a teenager saying how much he just loves her voice. During the duration of the film the viewer has the opportunity to meet 6 couples all on their own journey through dating, marriage, and divorce. From meeting a couple that wants to get married, to seeing a couple get through their own issues using toys, to having a family broken up, all these instances involve one another and the love that bonds them together.
