Antonietta had mental illness for many years due to stressful events happening in her life like the destruction of the Pirandello sulfur mine. In Henry IV, Luigi Pirandello often put the characters in his shoes of his current life situation with his wife. Henry IV’s life in Henry IV was based off of the life of Luigi Pirandello himself. The mental illness caused Pirandello to write with and about madness, illusion, and isolation. “Because being in front of a fool do you know what that means? Being in front of one that shakes the foundations of all that you have built up in you, around you, the logic, the logic of all your buildings! - Eh! What do you want? They construct without logic, lucky them, the fools! Or with their own logic that flies like a feather” (Pirandello). This quote from Henri IV is relating the “fool” to Luigi Pirandello’s wife. It is stating that Antonietta Portulano had driven him crazy and broke him down every time after he built himself up. “Beautiful, but it’s finished! Now that you know, I could not do it anymore! Giovanni Gabrieli was a legendary composer of the 16th century. As the fundamental structure and ideas of the Catholic Church were being challenged by the Protestant Reformation and the Counter-Reformation, Gabrieli’s compositions were given the opportunity to be successful and influential to music in the coming centuries. His works helped to transform not only church music of the Catholic Church, but also secular music as well. Giovanni Gabrieli wrote significant works that ultimately shaped the rise of the symphony, including the development of purely instrumental works, the art of orchestration, and the concerto style. Without his innovations in composition, it is arguable that instrumental music would not have developed as quickly, or developed

Some of the best books to read come from the pen of R. A. Salvatore. Salvatore’s descriptive writing has a way of captivating the audience and holding the reader’s attention until the end of the story. This remark by Donna Anna is an accurate portrayal of her frustration with his actions. The comedy of Leoporello’s Catalogue Aria is not what many would consider the admirable description of a hero. Behind Giovanni’s back, the jokes about his extensive history are not done so with admiration. Instead, the comedy enhances the absurdity and childlike obsession within his
