My chosen parable is the parable of the yeast. This is in Luke 13:20-21. This parable spreads a good message of the kingdom of God. The main characteristic is that Even though a small proportion of the word of God has been spread, it has managed to go everywhere so that everyone knows about it. In the parable of the yeast, the Kingdom of God is explained in an example. The example is that the kingdom of God is like yeast. Just like how a woman uses a little bit of yeast when making bread, it’s permeated every part of the dough. The kingdom of God works invisibly, yeast also does its job secretly and silently. One of the great characteristics is that God exerts influence from within, just as yeast helps bread rise from within. In this parable, the main characteristics are that yeast works invisibly the same way that the kingdom of God works invisibly in us, The Kingdom of God influences us from within just as yeast works from within and that small beginnings may create big impacts. The kingdom of God teaches this so that we realise that God is always there to listen to us and that we are never alone. That relates to yeast in the way that even though in bread, yeast is invisible, it is still there and everyone knows it . This is also clearly shown in the beatitudes such as “blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. This is relatable to everyday life by when we pray to God, it may sometimes seem as we are praying to nothing, but really we are praying to God and God is always there to listen to us and help us out when we are in need. Therefore, no matter what, God is always there, even though it may not seem
