Anyone can develop lung cancer. However, there are some people who are at a greater risk for it than others. There are some lung cancer risk factors that you can control, but there are other factors that cannot be controlled. Below is a list of some of the possible lung cancer risk factors:

Cigarette Smoking

It is estimated that smoking plays a role in about 90 percent of lung cancer cases. The longer one smokes, the more likely he or she is to develop lung cancer. Cigarette smoke contains 70 chemicals that are known to cause cancer. Even if a person smokes occasionally, he or she is still at a greater risk for developing lung cancer.
