Get A Move On !!! In this song “What You Waiting For?’ Stefani Gwen states: “what an amazing time what a family/ how did the years go by now its only me.”(1-2) Stefani Gwen “What you waiting for?” Love.angel.Music.Baby. In 2003 the “No Doubt” was the album they made together as a band. I think Gwen refers these lyrics to milestone in her life , where she was surrounded by friends that were close as a family would be. Now being on her own, she must be creative as a solo artist for her success and fame. This song has guided me through my life to progress and become more successful in this fast world, the time is ticking, I must send this world and get a move on in my life. Tick tock Tick tock Tick tock Tick tock/ Take a chance you might grow/ Like an echo pedal, you're repeating yourself You know it all by heart Why are you standing in one …show more content…
People will either love what you do or hate what you do! Thats a Fact. In our society women still get a lot of judgement because of their gender. Usually if thing don't get done on time or is theres the slightest mistake people criticize the work ethics because of the gender. Our society is full of criticism and judgement, but who cares it doesn't matter what they think, what matter is what makes you happy. You are a strong and independent person and you have the ability to achieve anything. In the sam way, I do feel feel the judgement and criticism of some people I'm surrounded by they lack confidence in my choices and decisions. I reflect on the on their questionings then I wake up and cant help to follow my crazy hear and do what make me happy. Today I find myself following my dreams in school and thats only the beginning of my journey of succeeding in my goal to become a missionary
In 1966, Nancy Sinatra performed Lee Hazlewood’s song “These Boots Are Made for Walkin'.” Years later Jessica Simpson edited and performed her own version of the song for "The Dukes of Hazzard" soundtrack. Sinatra and Simpson sing the same song with a few minor changes within the lyrics. Both however in a way contradict each other. There is a clear distinction between the feminist views in Sinatra’s video and in Simpson’s video.
She is given another chance, she knows that she has to remember who she is and how people think of her. She made it through the hard parts of life, and is now seeing the better parts; this makes her feel good about herself. In the second verse, Macklemore sings, “En garde, things are just things/ They don’t make you who you are/ Can't pack up a

Certainly, there was some people don’t like to see women expanding themselves in jobs and positions.
My dear sweetheart, oh how I have missed you. My love for you is indescribable. Judy, I have loved you since you were “The little girl who… [was] eleven” (414). I still love you even throughout the rough years of you not being here with me. I have tried so hard to move on but I cannot. You know how I feel for you; I want to be with you for the rest of my life.
This leads to the chorus and post-chorus. That includes the famous line “ I’m gonna swing from the chandelier”. When actually processing this line, the meaning of it changes. It doesn’t mean that the girl is going to literally swing from a chandelier, but it does mean that she is going to let loose with no regrets. The line after that , “ I’m gonna live like tomorrow doesn’t exist” seconds that statement. It is almost like a you only live once type of situation. Sia then utilizes a simile saying that she’s going to fly like a bird and follows that up with “feel my tears as they dry.” That simile and the line after emphasized the fact that the girl is totally letting loose, and that it’s making her feel as if her sadness is going away. In the post-chorus however, the mood completely shifts being that the girl is basically admitting that she is unstable. The lines , “But I'm holding on for

I have no struggles as big as Sarah Grimké's obviously, but my ideals differ from the current norm. Like Sarah, I firmly believe in the equality of the race and sex. I have been berated because of my ideas, mainly on the equality of gender. Those who are my closest friends even have told me there was no reason to bother because we will never see the change in our life time. But, where would we be if Sarah and Angelina Grimké had thought the same? In my career choices, I have encountered issues and bumps in the road when it comes to other people. I have chosen to be an artist, and with that comes a certain stereotype, which is where I have seen most of my issues and the complaints of others come from. Even down to such a deceivingly simple issue as housing I have encountered much grief. In America and other first world countries our housing and our environmental footprints have gotten to big and it is driving our world into a tail spin. Trying to convince the masses of is especially difficult when the changes cannot be seen for a long way off. But Sarah had even bigger problems than I and she continued onward so I can as well. If Sarah can accomplish huge feats, then I can do these small
Introduction Music is something that is supposed to inspire people and bring hope. Today the type of music teens listen and feed their mind is not only degrading of women but redefines self-worth and human beings in a negative way. One of many singers and songwriters, Alecia Beth Moore stands out on her own in the pop music industry. Alecia Moore, better known as Pink exemplifies a new age worldview because of the belief in self, belief in reincarnation, and the different shifting commitments. Background and History First of all, Alecia Beth Moore is not only a singer, songwriter, but also an actress that has changed the scope of pop music.
Every struggle comes along with challenges and theirs going to be times where you are faced with the uncertainty of success. It is important to remember that the world is not holding you back, but rather an opportunity to become more than you thought you would. Life is inherently risky. There is only one big risk you should avoid at all costs, and that is the risk of doing nothing. I believe in taking a risk and challenging yourself to do better.
One thing that my father told me, actually a couple times, was “if you put in the work, no one can question that”. This meant a lot to me as I really thought about this and analysed it in my head. What he meant, or how I perceived it was, that you may or may not get to where you want to be in life, but nobody can question the work that you put in to get to where you want to be, or where you are right now, and this as with many other things was very, well, inspiring. That is, if you want to put it that way, and this is one of my very reasons for motivation and it helps me build confidence. Knowing this, I have high hopes that these lessons that I have learned throughout my time on this earth so far can benefit my well-being, as well as any of the peers around me, so that I can lead through my
This is what they call imagery. The singer is saying be yourself do not follow others, be yourself and don’t let your perse stop you. Later on in the song it say,”The ice we skate is getting pretty thin/ The water’s getting warm so you might as well swim/ My worlds on fire. How about yours/ That’s the way I like it and i’ll never get bored.” (Smash Mouth) This entire line of the song describes stress and it will try to stop you from being you, but when he rose up and he made a difference and forgot all about the stress he once had. The first part of the lyric is a simile. The final lyric in the song that is important is,” Somebody once asked could I spare some change for gas/ I need to get myself away from this place/ I said yep, what a concept/I could use a little fuel myself/ And we could all use a little change.”( Smash Mouth) What he means by this is people ask him what he did to become this famous and he said,”you have to follow your dreams.” This is an example of a
~ Your career is just now beginning, and you have the potential to do great things. There will be people that will try to take you down. Be careful of those that you let into your life. Remember that you can't trust everyone that you call a friend. Listen to the signs that are presented to you.
This song has a lot of emotion behind it. I believe that when Beyoncé sings this song, she is sending off a message to the families of those who lost their lives during 9/11. She is singing from the victim’s point of view saying to remember me for the positive impact I have made in the world and how I strived to make the world a better place. She is singing to tell us that no matter how rich, successful, or famous you may be, always live your life to the fullest because you never know when it
Don't look at me is the first line of Christina Aguilera's song "Beautiful." This instant whisper from the voice of Aguilera creates an ashamed vibe for the song. It is spoken quietly and without any musical instrumentation. As the music softly and brilliantly builds up to the first verse listener's already have a misinterpretation of the lyrics. The audience presumes that the song will be about depression or shame and disgrace because one would associate not wanting people to look at you with shame. However, once they read more into the lyrics they notice that the meaning of the song is much deeper than shame and actually has an opposite message. When the audience hears the title of the song they could
