Since starting Unit 3, I have learned a variety of writing/citing techniques. Previous to this unit, I did not realize that it was necessary to cite a paraphrase. Now I am knowledgeable on how to document paraphrases and quotations. I now know that to correctly document a quotation, it is vital to include the three parts: an in-text citation, quotation marks, and it must be included in the works cited. I have also learned that documenting a paraphrase is similar, but requires one less step. One does not need to include quotation marks. Alongside learning how to accurately document a source, I have also been informed about what plagiarism actually is. I found out that the magic number is 3 or more of important words. I also learned
In the course, I also acquired the necessary citation formatting used in academic writing, such as APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, and Turban. However, the course concentrates more on MLA referencing style. To avoid plagiarism or to acknowledge the work done by other authors, English 1101 taught me to identify all the phrases, ideas, quotations or images from someone else’s work, and cite them accordingly. According to
In-text citations should note the author(s) and the publication date for a paraphrase. For a direct quotation, citations should include author(s), date, and page number. See the following examples:
This week for the reporting period, I had an opportunity to travel with a case worker to pick up a child in CPS custody from Millcreek in Pontotoc, MS. I observed the way the child acted. The workers at Millcreek said the child was a handful and to be careful. I also had the chance to transport two teenagers in foster care to school. Both of the children went to different schools. They said it was pretty cool to have someone young taking them to school instead of the older workers. I thought that was kind of funny. It was easy to talk to them and they seemed comfortable being in the car with me. I also had the opportunity to pick up a child from school and take them to New Beginnings which is a counseling clinic and afterwards I took the

* In order to diminish the risk of plagiarizing, do NOT directly lift phrasing or entire segments of the text from sources without properly indicating that you have done so. If you find it necessary to directly quote an author, clearly indicate what has been copied from the author and record the page number on which this information can be found.
C100 allowed me the opportunity to realize areas of concerns as it pertained of writing, briefing, and critical thinking. The writing class influenced me the most, as it pertains to improving my writing, as I prepared to start the grading portion of the CGSC The course allowed instructors to show prior writing assignments by former CGSC students writing products, good and bad. These examples informed students what the CGSC staff expects it pertains to writing assignments. This was invaluable as I had questions pertaining to the history writing. This academic environment allowed me to brief to my peers; grammar topics which I improved my briefing and communication skills. In addition, the C100 course allowed members our staff group to learn
I started playing minecraft for the 1.4.4 at the beginning I was interested only in the aspect of survival of the game with more than 64 wooden houses height and width 64 such a beginner minecraftien who don't is there not know. I started really playing minecraft from the 1.7.10 (I think), with all new systems that have been incorporated into this game.
Because PLM is far from our house, I need to wake up early and I'm not used to traveling that far because my school before was walking distance from our house. And in PLM you’re not allowed to. And that's what shocked me the most, I used to learn lesson by lesson not chapter by chapter. In PLM the professors are teaching the lessons fast like they need to finish the whole chapter in one hour only. And I'm not used to
This class encouraged me to think differently and critically through the discussion boards. I was able to read differing thoughts on the subject matter, and that really was beneficial for my learning. Not only did my instructor and the assigned readings help me to personally think beyond and to dig deeper into the materials, but learning what others thought opened up a new world to me. The discussions in AMS 332 are what were so helpful and positive about this class to me.
I am a first year student in the MLT program effective 2016, but this ended in March 31, 2017 due to suspension by the college. I have accumulated many accolades before entering the MLT program such as making the Dean's list and being inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. I have had no disciplinary record before entering this program. I have been at Central Piedmont Community College for 3 years to be exact. I have had no disciplinary record from other schools that I have matriculated at. With that being said, the MLT department at Central Piedmont Community College has committed numerous violations on my behalf. There is a paper trail that can validate this claim significantly. I will provide the backdrop of everything, on Sunday,
I called CMS and spoke with Ms. Dina Diaz, who was very nice. I informed her that we had conducted an extensive search that consisted of 15 employees, various departments, and that we were unable to locate some of the patients. I told her that I am very concerned that someone may be using our information to bill for some of these patients. I asked her if she could provide me with information as to who and where the payments were made? She said that she understands my concern, and the first step is for BRLI to send in the records we found, and indicate in writing on our letterhead, the patients we did not find, and our concerns.
In Unit 5 Discussion post, I was really struggled on writing a thesis statement. I read through Unit 5 Reading and its help. I got some helps with the thesis from the replied post. My professor replied with the post stated that my thesis needed to be more formal. I realized that I need to change my thesis to be more formal. I think to write a good paper I need to focus more on how to write a good formal thesis. I found out that as I wrote my draft I think my weakness is on writing a thesis. I also need to make some changes on my 3 paragraphs to flow better with my introduction. Someone once told me a Thesis statement is a map for the paper. I think my paper need a strong thesis to start off the paper. I realized that I need to have a clear
According to my perspective, I think the most important thing I have learned was to know the process of admission to get into MSW and Nursing program. Earlier, I had no idea about a nurse’s or a social worker’s academic and admission criteria’s. However, now I know such as that before getting into the nursing program, a student has to take the placement exam, known as TEAS examination. Also, a nurse cannot practice nursing as an intern before they graduate, on the other hand we as a student pharmacist can practice pharmacy as an intern after successful completion of P-3 year and we also get an intern license. A social worker has to take LMSW exam to practice their profession. I think it is important that we know all these basic informations
Passing my level 1 gave me the confidence and determination to push myself forward with self study, online web material and help from sonographers for level 2, and which I knew was going to be a steep learning curve. Although, I knew this may not substitute my learning that will occur at the university however, it can help me to get a head start.
Taking someone’s words and using them without a proper citation is a problem. Without being taught the correct way, this problem is not going to correct itself and will continue to become a bigger problem. There are major consequences for plagiarising, but these can be avoided with a simple citation. Tying together the definition of plagiarism, reasons for using documentation, and an explanation of MLA 8 and APA citations will all be brought together. Learning what kind of citation, and what needs a citation is a very important concept in becoming a successful writer. Citing a source correctly will save you time and problems.
