The piece "The Story of a Garden," written by Mabel Osgood Wright, is about nature, with the birds and beautiful life that comes from it. In the second paragraph, Mabel states that "...presently it grew so lovable [the garden] that there came to it a soul." This means that the garden's wildness has a beauty to it that makes it special. She also mentions what birds live in the garden, such as "the mottled owl," a night-hawk, catbirds, robins, crows, bluebirds, and Orioles, along with many plants.
