For the few years, Hong Kong government would like to make a policy that prohibited mainland people coming to Hong Kong but it will have many inflections.
First, it makes changing in human policy. Limit of mainland women giving birth in Hong Kong that will affect birth rate decreasing and mainland people population will also reduce. Aging population problem has been improved because decrease the birth rate and H.K people don’t give to birth. In addition, medical services requirement has decreased. Hong Kong government can avoid misuse of medical resources and supply problem which can protect the problem of lack of resources such as emergency call, hospital supply, human resources supply, enhance expenditure. They are the most important resources in our medical services.
In long term policy, prohibition can avoid reduction of employment which can avoid low wages in Hong Kong people, we can enjoy more benefit by company and reduce competition with mainland people. Hong Kong increases the gap between rich and poor in H.K which is very serious problem. We need to concern this problem in our life.In economy, it also decrease the mupltiper effect and the income of economy such as investment or comsumption that will affect the local business and trade with other country. In education, the prohibition can avoid mainland students competition in H.K and decrease the demand of schools.
After prohibition, it will affect the relationship
The person that I will describe is Thomas. He is one of my friends and comes from a rich family in Hong Kong. He attempts to acquire U.S. citizenship because U.S has better welfare and environment, compared to Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a crowded city where people do not live along well with each others. Also, Hong Kong did not develop well in past few years because many riots happened and Chinese government strongly intervened in and destroyed Hong Kong's independent law's system. In contrast, U.S. has huge space for people to live, and the Americans in U.S are nice to get along with. Also, U.S has a perfect law's system as its Americans can get a fair treatment from it. For instance, the pesident Trump set a new policy to prohibit some minorities
a fairly liberal immigration policy. Many wondered how Hong Kong could ever be able to be
Hong Kongers protest procession to “kick” out all mainland Chinese. They call the visitors from the mainland as “locust”. I know what mainland Chinese done is wrong, but that does not represent everyone will do the same things. Due to this contradiction, Hong Kongers start to give tourist nasty looks if they speak Mandarin. Some Hong Kongers will discriminate and abuse, force innocent visitors to open their suitcases to show what they brought in Hong Kong! Even though Hong Kong’s reversion to China occurs, a lot of local residents still despise Mandarin and simplified Chinese characters. Hong Kongers believe they have their own culture, currency and system. They have all the requirements to build a country, thus they don’t want mainland China to step in or get involve with them. Although I have not experienced this bias behaviors directly, I still this kind of discrimination should be
Over population has been a global issue for decades. Medical advances have made it possible for people to live longer and have multiple births, which are just some of the factors contributing to this social problem. Many countries have attempted to battle this issue, but none as intensely as China. China allows the government to have full control over family planning to help reduce the population. In 1979 China created a policy called the "One Child Law" which limits couples to only one child. Although the Chinese government hopes to curb the population boom and benefit society, the One Child Policy has morally questionable results, negative impacts on Chinese society, which should be changed.
The exploratory experiences were very different. In China, their project was shot term and for Europe, it was a major project that changed history. Spain and Portugal had similar motivation and goals. The Europeans were searching for trade routes to Asia and Portugal set up trades in east Asia. China have up, so they didn’t have a goal as strong as theirs. The Chinese experiences were commanded by Zheng He. He was the Muslim explorer who went and led many voyages. His desire was to spread Chinese prestige. He was one of the greatest person in the Chinese history. He led over 300 ships called “treasure ships”. Zheng He voyages connected in the Indian ocean, while Christopher Columbus voyages connected Europe with Americas in a way that no previous
In 2017, the world population is at 7.5 billion people. China is the most populated country in whole world. It has “1.379 billion” (Google) people making it the largest populated country. China is also the most largest aging population making it have a high life expectancy and the high accelerating aging rate in the world (Zheng, 2012). China has advanced with technology and also with age. Only “three decades ago, only 5 percent of the populations was over 65; today, 123 million people, or 9 percent of the population, are over this age which a report released by the government states that China will be the world's’ most aged society in 2030” (Huang, 2013). Since, China is the most largest aging population this means that less people are dying and more are living. Since, more people are living this means that need of long-term care, health insurance, adjustment of policies and how to make everyone comfortable living. China is the only country that has an older population exceeding 100 million and annually increases at a rate of 3.2. A dependent territory of China is Hong kong that has “7.347 million people” (Google). Hong kong also has a fast growing aged population. Hong kong is also trying to adjust their long-term care system, pensions system and policies to accommodate everyone living situation.
First of all, China population law should be abolished because the law limits the future of China, and the law decimates the economy. In the article China’s child policy, the authors state, “China can only have one child policy” This passage shows that China’s economy is beginning to struggle. Some of the citizens doesn't like the population law that the government does. It affects the citizens because they can’t do anything like Li Xia she couldn’t do anything because she doesn’t have her birth certificate.
According to scientists, there has been human activity on Hong Kong since the Neolithic and Paleolithic eras. However, the earliest recorded European man to travel there was a Portuguese man named Jorge Álvares who did not travel there until 1513. For many thousands of years, Hong Kong was subjected to the rule of the dynastic China. However, Britain gained the land of Hong Kong after defeating the Chinese army in the Opium Wars. Today, Hong Kong has a democratic government modeled very much after the British one. How did it get there? Why is it democratic? Why isn’t it included in the Chinese government?
Hong Kong’s recent reinstatement as the world’s freest economy1 reconfirmed its claim as a central hub for international business travelers. Its exceptional shopping and fine dining opportunities also make it a major tourist Mecca. Hong Kong was especially a unique shopping experience for visitors from China mainland and the world. From glitzy malls to funky street markets, and trendy boutiques to traditional Chinese products stores and themed shopping districts, tourists could find everything to satisfy their shopping fantasies.
A Concise History Of Hong Kong was a prequel to one of the most fascinating places I have ever traveled to. Going through history class, and growing up, I had heard many stories of Hong Kong, China, Britain, and Japan, but I never realized how intertwined they truly were and how their stories were really told. John Carroll did a remarkable job setting the scene for what Hong Kong was, where they had been, and how they made it through all of it and came out with their own identity.
Older people face special physical and mental health challenges. The 2013-14 Budget report in Hong Kong has mentioned the need to cope with an aging population and long-term public spending surged problem. The recurrent expenditure on medical and health services for 2013-14 will reach $49 billion, an increase of $2.7 billion over 2012-13.The bulk of the additional funding is for new recurrent allocation to the Hospital Authority (HA) to enhance and expand appropriate public medical services.
This research has shown that there are differences in perceptions and expectations of Chinese Mainland tourists compared to other foreign tourists and this impacts upon satisfaction levels. Chinese Mainland tourists spend less on hotel accommodation than other foreign tourists, however have high expectations and expect value for money, making price a major factor in the consideration process for hotel selection and an aspect that the Hong Kong hotel market must consider when marketing their hotels and services, to the Chinese Mainland tourist.
Why would a city not want to promote tourism? Tourism helps attract foreign investments and therefore contribute tremendously to the economy. In fact, tourism is one of the main sources of income for Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). According to a recent study by market research firm Euromonitor, Hong Kong has been named the world’s most desirable travel destination for international visitors with a number of 23.8 million visitors. However, if that figure is broken down by geographic zones, Chinese tourists account for 63.5%. Mainland visitors have always been playing a huge role in tourism in Hong Kong and they are the ones Hong Kong citizens feel resentful towards mainly because of birth tourism. Local residents have felt that the medical system is already operating at its capacity. Demonstrations on streets are not uncommon with citizens wanting the government to take action against such tourism, I believe that Hong Kong government should still welcome Chinese tourists since Mainland visitors have been contributing significantly to Hong Kong’s inbound tourism, however the government should put a ban on birth tourism.
It is a beautiful country located on a small area of 1,063 square miles and population of about 7.4 million people as per census of 2016. In the year of 1960, Hong Kong had a population of 3.1 million. In the period of 57 years population of Hong Kong grew almost 2.5 times, yet, this country has no problem in keeping a pretty low unemployment rate. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for January of 2017 was at 3.3 percent. It held the same level as in two previous months. At the same time, the underemployment rate decreased from 1.4% to 1.3%. Hong Kong continues to be an economic success mainly because government stays out of its citizens ' life. Hong Kong 's government keeps business taxes low ( currently at 16.5% for
Nowadays tourism industry becomes one of the most important economic growth factor in Hong Kong.
