Maintaining a Healthy Life Balance in Nursing Health is not just physical health, it is a multi-aspect concept. Health is social, mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical. Social health is the ability to carry out satisfying relationships and to interact well with other people and the environment. Mental health is the ability to gain knowledge and learn. Emotional health is the ability to control emotions and to express those emotions in appropriate times. It is also holding back on those emotions and not expressing them when the time is unsuitable. Spiritual health is believing in some unifying force. This could mean a God-like force, nature, or science. Lastly, physical health is the ability to perform daily tasks with substantial energy remaining. (Greenberg, 2009) According to Greenberg (2009), “wellness is the integration of social, mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health at any level of health or illness” (p. 304). This means that people can be well regardless of whether they are ill or healthy. Therefore, an ill person cannot be healthy, but they can still have wellness. Through conducting a personal wellness assessment on myself and making a care plan, I discovered that I may not be as well as I thought I was (Experience the Culture of Wellness: Seven Dimensions of Wellness, 2015). Yes, I may live a healthy life by choosing the right foods to eat and getting plenty of exercise weekly. However, I realized I was lacking in the emotional and social
