Though overcoming adversity may be difficult to go through, a girl with brains and integrity made a change that effected not only her but the whole world. Her name is Malala Yousafzia. Malala is a well known role model for many reasons but the main one that stands out is, her fight for female education according to Malala Yousafzia biographical. Back when she was young, Malala was an eager learner and wanted to learn everything. She was encouraged to learn more because her dad was a teacher at her school. But when Malala started to go to school a group in her country called the Taliban banned all girls from going to school. Did that stop her? Nope! Not at all she decided she didn't care and continued to go to school. The Taliban found
First of all, Determination is necessary to overcome adversity because it shows that no one is ever going to back down from what they believe in. Malala didn’t give up and earned what was rightfully hers-the ability to have an education. The article, “Malala” states, “The Taliban's attempt to keep Malala from getting an education has now backfired. Not only is Malala alive and bravely continuing to campaign for her beliefs, but Nov. 10 was named Malala Day to urge people to support the almost 32 million girls worldwide who are denied schooling.” Malala showed her determination by getting back
Malala has made a great impact in the lives of many young girls all over the world. In the article, Malala the Powerful, it says “Malala stated that she felt her role was to “serve humanity.” This fall, she will publish a memoir. The Malala Fund, created in her name, is helping to send 40 girls in Pakistan to school." Malala stood up for what was right whenever it was her being targeted. She was also in the position that many girls in Pakistan are right now, or for most used to be. Malala believed that it was right that every girl had access to an education no matter what. In the article, Malala the Powerful, it states that Malala said "Even if they come to kill me, I will tell them what they are trying to do is wrong, that education is our
One teen activist that changes the world is Malala Yousafzai. Malala is a young girl who believes that everyone should go to school even if they are a girl. She comes from a small town in Swat Valley in Mingora were girls can’t go to school like boys. Therefore, she started to take a stand and got the attention of a terrorist group call the Taliban they didn't want girls to go to school in the first place, they didn't like Malala’s stand. The Taliban thinks that it would be educating the whole family and the Taliban wouldn't have much control. According to the book “Malala Yousafzai,” the Taliban tried to assassinate her, they hoped on a bus and asked the bus driver who was Malala no one answered but they glared at Malala, they fired the gun 3 times, they shot her in the head right above her eyebrow, it went through her head and in the shoulder, the other bullets wounded her friends. She got paralyzed on the left side. Many people didn’t think that she wouldn’t survive. One day a miracle happened and she finally woke up. Her dad told her to stop but she didn’t keep quiet. This shows that Malala is brave because she didn't stop she tried all she can to keep going.
Millions of young girls aren’t given the freedom to go to school. In countries such as Pakistan, young girls are advocating to their right to freedom. Among these advocates is Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistan native who exercised her right to education and was shot in the head at the age of fourteen. She survived and today she represents millions of girls across the world. Malala represents how courage comes from all corners of the world.
Born in the Swat District of Pakistan on July of 1997, Malala was destine to change the world. Her father named her after the famous Pashtun Heroine, Malalai. Malalai’s legend was that she inspired the Afghan army to defeat the British in 1880, one of the biggest battles of the Second Anglo-Afgan War. Being named after a hometown hero, Malala has lived up to her name. Her father is a leading education advocate for young women, making him an easy target for the Taliban. The Taliban is against women’s education, and during this period of time they ran Malala’s hometown. Due to her father’s prominent role in advocating for women’s equality, the Taliban targeted Malala’s family. In 2012 Malala was voted by the Taliban to be murdered. Their unsuccessful
Teen activist Malala Yousafazi spoke up for girls who were forbidden of their right to education in Pakistan and also created an advance in our society. She stated, “I raise up my voice-not so that I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard.” Malala didn’t want to cause violence, but endeavor to help those who could not speak for what was righteous.
Malala Visits the girls who are imprisoned in their homes, not allowed to go to school or learn anything. She Instructs the ignorant Taliban to let girls learn and have their basic rights of freedom. And she feeds the girls who are hungry for knowledge. Malala is a true modern day prophet and lives a life that reflects the works of mercy. As Malala says when talking about standing up for herself, “I said to myself, Malala you must be brave. You must not be afraid of anyone. You are only trying to get an education. You are not committing a crime.”.
The book, I Am Malala, gave a powerful message about activism, family, women’s rights, but most importantly, the power of education. Malala Yousafzai had a very strong belief in education and would not stop at anything to guarantee that every child was able to go to school. Malala grew up believing that education was the key to success, but not everyone else believed that. Malala lived in a society where women were not treated as equals, and soon appeared laws prohibiting women’s right to attend school. Malala was extremely determined to continue her education, she even snuck to school, hid her books and abandoned her school uniform so she would not be noticed. Malala becomes vocal about education and gives her opinion in interviews for many news stations. Many people in her country feared to express their opinions, however, Malala wanted to be the change. Malala expressed her belief that “If people were silent, nothing would change.” (Yousafzai 140). Although Malala knew that it was dangerous to speak against the Taliban, she suggests her opinions in interviews to draw international attention to her cause. Malala dreamed of getting an education so she could become a politician and help her country. But when she was 10, the Taliban took control of her town, making it a law that girls were banned from
Women that defend their rights face enormous risks every day and Malala is a perfect example of this. She is a perfect example of this because she was affected by this problem. An example of this is “In October 2012, on her bus-ride home from school, she was shot in the head by the Taliban for promoting girls’ right to education.” When the bullet hit her skin, the bone richoted it away and the bullet hit her eardrum instead. Once she fully recovered from the bullet to her head she began to fight for girls rights once again. To this day many girls and women still fight daily for the right to learn.
While reading about Malala and how she became an activist when she was very young, I began fell in awe that at her age she had the courage and the power to speak in front of a crowd and tell them what she wanted to happen in the world. I was also very inspired by her to not be afraid to speak out when I felt something was not right and needed to be changed. Malala found her courage and inspiration from her dad. Her courage came from when her dad ran a school for girls. She found courage when the Taliban were threatening to bomb her father’s school if he didn’t stop letting girls learn at his school. Instead of listening to the Taliban her father still let girls come to the school. This showed Malala that if her father had the courage like that that she could have the courage to speak out about women’s rights and education. Malala’s inspiration also came from her dad because of what he did to make sure that every girl went to
The third reason why Malala is a role model for all girls is because she survived the Taliban's attack against her for the right of a fair education for all children. Malala got shot by the Taliban at age fifteen on the bus ride home from school. Malala was shot in her head and was rushed to a hospital in the U.K. She refused to die, she believed that she needed to survive in order to help the children who could not go to school. Part of the reason why Malala kept going was because she said, “ I am not afraid of the Taliban, I think that they are afraid of me.
Malala Yousafzai has been an inspiration to me since I was a freshman in high school. The day her story broke was the day I realized that as an American citizen, I had privilege. No one I knew at that time has ever had to risk their lives for an education, or worry about their families lives if they persisted and went to school. Her story sparked a flame inside me, and six years later, it has yet to be put out. Women's education is a topic I care greatly about, and it is mostly due to the bravery, perseverance, and compassion Malala has shown throughout the years. She began speaking up when she was only a young girl, with the help of BBC and the encouragement of her father. Not long after she raised her voice about the injustice she saw, the
Throughout the span of the human race, many people and organization have stood up for the right of others. Some scientists raced against time to produce vaccines that saved millions if not billions of lives. On the other hand, many speakers traveled across the globe to promote individual’s freedom and rights. In wartime, more people regardless of their backgrounds worked tirelessly to save lives of many individuals who faced genocide. Undoubtedly, history has foretold that at any moment in time, people are working tremendously so that other people may have a better world to live. Regarding education, Malala Yousafzai, known as Malala, has put all her efforts in promoting education to every child living on earth. She was a target of an insurgent group, but now she is the savior of many children. Thanks to her works, many children now have an education which they have never once dreamed they would have. Her moral courage will be a legacy that she leaves for humans.
"I speak not for myself but for those without voice... those who have fought for their rights... their right to live in peace, their right to be treated with dignity, their right to equality of opportunity, their right to be educated." Malala Yousafzai, a women's rights activist living in Pakistan, is taking a stand for girls getting an education. Her ability to show no fear and not give up makes her such a big inspiration for women and young girls all over the world. Her personal experience with women's education, her biggest obstacle of being shot, and her accomplishments, is what makes Malala Yousafzai such a powerful figure for women's rights.
When Malala was shot on October 10, 2014, it sent waves around the world. It was making education a household word, everyone was talking about it. Various opinions on how females should be educated, whether or not they deserve an education arose. Malala’s journey was important for females education because it was no longer something that could be ignored, it became a social issue that everyone would become passionate about like Malala. Like Malala said, “When the world is silent, one voice becomes powerful.” Her voice stood out, millions of people were listening to her, which is exactly what the Taliban did not want. Her voice could spark the world to question what they were doing, creating anarchy among those they control. Her being shot was the Taliban’s way of trying to silence her voice. That did not work if anything Malala’s voice became louder and stronger. The world was watching her recover, watching her grow stronger and continue her education. The Taliban only made Malala stronger and more inspired to ensure education equality for everyone. Malala said in her book, “We realize the importance of our voices only when we are silenced.” Malala saw the impact she could have in the fight for education equality when the Taliban shot her. She was making waves around the world, bringing to light what was happening in Pakistan, but also many countries around the world that are also being affected by educational inequality. After her shooting, that passion was made
