“A man who stands for nothing will fall for anything” (Lawrence A. Mamiya) is a quote said by Malcolm X. The quote means that those who do not have strong values or opinions, may be influenced easily. Or if you do not stand up for yourself you will be taken advantage of. Malcolm X was an important and influential figure in history that had a positive impact on the world because, of his ability to state his believes and to critic the public and government about important, real life issues. Malcolm X was born on May 19, 1925 in a large city in Nebraska called Omaha. Malcolm's father was a Baptist minister and a follower of a black nationalist leader named Marcus Garvey. In the earliest stages of Malcolm's life, his family moved around a lot because of racism. They were often threatened by the Klu Klux Klan, and at one point their house was burned down. Unfortunately Malcolm's father was found dead on the street, many family members had suspicion and said that he was killed by whites but the police denied. A few years later Malcolm and his 10 siblings were separated in foster homes, due to their mother being sent to a mental hospital. For a while Malcolm lived with his half sister, he was described as a studious boy. But at one point he lost interest when a teacher told him he should become a carpenter instead of a lawyer.
