The rest of the book, Chapters 6-11, were great and I loved every bit of them. The book ends at a bit of a cliffhanger, and I plan on reading the next book in the series on my own time.
The best part in the chapters is when they arrived in Bellingham. It was about the time when things were about to change. It was nice because it described how John felt towards making new friends and adjusting to a new life.
I, personally, loved the author's writing, although I did not really understand why she structured the book like so. With each chapter changing different perspectives and stories, it was kind of hard to remember which chapter went with another considering the chapters where out of order. With each story, I was a little annoyed that they just suddenly ended at the end of the chapter. It made me want to read more and more trying to find the next chapter that went with that person's story. It was also kind of difficult to connect the stories. Other than that, she did a marvelous job grabbing my attention. I loved the analogies that she included in the stories. For example, on page 216- 217, one of the mothers told her daughter about a turtle that eats her tears and then creates birds that laugh
My third point is when Amir running away for the second time. Amir had a chance to redeem himself for watching the last time his friend was violated. Instead he would do the same and betray his brother Hassan once more. Aurora had a good attitude towards the book, she finished the book on time, and answered all her questions with a good amount of detail at the book club meetings. This is what she had to say about her book " It was interesting to learn about the relationship between hassan and amir, and was also interesting to learn about a father and sons relationship."
In conclusion overall I enjoyed this book because of the determination the two sisters have to escape together and be free and to help Adam stay alive and keep him out of their thoughts so the foundation doesn't find
To end this, I wanted to say I like this story because of the moral it left that is to make everyone aware that if you always keep in trying and not giving up even if there are so much obstacles in the way, you will achieve a goal and will feel yourself proud of all efforts you made. As Felicity who never give up to break the code and finally she did it. Another moral is not dropp across to fullfil a dream, we have to make it, and if we fail, we redo it until we make it well. As Aunt Miami, she thought her dream of becoming a good actress was fail until she did it and saw the fruits of her achievements.
I still can't believe we finished the book. This book was a really eye opening for everyone. Reading every chapter made me reflect about each story and think more depper of the things we have to do as a multicultural educator. Having the little discussions in class makes me see more into the problems we have now days at schools and what we have to do to change those. learned
I have the first two chapter of the assignment. It is totally different the previews books I have read. There wasn’t illustration or the hilarious cartoon in Arnold’s book. In addition, it is harder than the “ Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian” and Persepolis. I really liked how the author begun to introduce his grandparents. Michelle grew up her grandfather’s house. They become very close and he was role model for her. She tough her lot activities when she was young girl. This story remained my grandparents who used live next our home. I used to their everyday just to eat with, and I become very close to them.
I found all the details about how they did things fascinating. I especially enjoyed the parts where they talked about the process of butchering the animals and how they cooked them. Also, I liked reading the little stories that Pa told about his childhood and his Pa’s life.
Another part of the novel that I really enjoyed was the character development of April Hall. I love how she matured into an age appropriate character and her growth towards others. In the beginning of the novel, she moved in with her grandmother, Carolina, because her mother was on tour and could not bring her along. At first, April was very distraught and acted very independent. She would put on a performance around grown-ups and people she does not feel so comfortable with. When she meets her downstairs neighbor, Melanie Ross, and realizes they both have the same interests in Ancient Egypt, April starts to become nicer and takes interest in becoming friends. She is more herself around Melanie, and they start to play a game called The Egypt
I would deeply recommend this book. It makes you understand why that characters in the book do what they do, what they are thinking, and what they are feeling. It makes you feel like you are having an interview with him. It also shows how smart they are. This is an amazing book,i think everyone should read this book. And we can share the story of Naoki Higashida, along
this was my favorite chapter by far and a lot of things happened, things that I would have never guessed would have happened to these three boys, after being through all they have done, finally payed off I guess. But maybe it wasn't all that good. For some yes, others not so much. So what happened in this chapter was too many things. Gecko finds romance with some lady. But he didn’t want to. He just got so much feelings for her. Arjay gets famous somehow. So in other words, Arjay is loving his life. Also Terence starts reverting to his old ways. Which means he’s back to being himself, no more of this Juvie stuff or anything like that. He looked back on his life and he hated it. Now that he’s out of Juvie he has to start a new life…a new beginning.
These first few chapters were very basic. I thought that it was very inspiring that Mariatu continued to stay happy while working on a farm at 11 years old. It would be hard to live with a fake family your whole life. You can already tell that Maraitu is older for her age.
Scientists wanted to know how the relationship between a dog owner and the dog affects the endorphins but Miho Nagasawa found that they also have higher levels of oxytocin in their urine so they tested it then they were both right. In the text it said there is an increase in endorphins in both dogs and people after enjoyable interactions, like petting, play and talking (2). From this I can infer that dogs are good and don’t harm but bring happiness after good interactions to both people and dogs. I know because key to the hormonal changes women experience leading up to and following birth (4). An example in paragraph four is that Miho Nagasawa and her colleagues found that owners and dogs sharing a long mutual gaze had higher levels of oxytocin
