OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES IN MANAGEMENT EDUCATION
SUB THEME- INCLUSIVE GROWTH
Management Education in India is at the cross road, On the one hand is the Govt of India, the statutory body while on the other is the All India Council for technical Education. The Govt has permitted the AICTE for the establishment of several business schools which have to be monitored and ranked as per their standards by the AICTE. Management education in India is a new concept as because the preferred careers in the 1940s and the 50s were medicine and engineering and in the 1960s and 70s the IAS and the Central services, the craze since the 1980s has

On the other side there are some problems which may arise would be it may increase the present demand of quality faculties which are already short in number. The foreign players may fix a high remuneration to attract the Brand B school faculties which may liquidate the quality of the faculties in the premier B Schools of India.
So the factors which need to be addressed for the inclusive growth in management education are discussed below:-
INNOVATIONS IN THE PEDAGOGY
Apart from the traditional method of theoretical classroom teaching followed across most institutions. Some have innovated with Guest faculty who give a firsthand experience of the happenings in the corporate world, so that the students can remain updated of the recent developments. Thanks to rapid progress of technology that classrooms are getting equipped with videoconferencing, video data LCD projectors, audio playback facilities with high speed internet connectivity; Centre for Global Networking; E-centre and Entrepreneurship Guidance Cell; Hi-tech Management development centre; Case Study discussion hall, State-of-the-art CD ROM based digital library, and the likes. Many business schools have strong relationships with practicing managers and leading businesses and are constantly monitoring the business environment and making projections to refine and revise curricula

I will need to obtain the knowledge of management skills in a more depth details. I will gain the skills by obtain my administrative business degree. I also plan to achieve my bachelor and master degree in business. The knowledge from my degrees with provided myself with the ability to perform management duties.
This is a category that I feel we are slowing getting better at. There is a wide variety of classes whether it be here or at Indian Hills that teaches students the basics of business. I feel as though more in depth in classes should be taught on how to own and run a business rather than how a business works. The idea of teaching students about business laborers is taught more than being business leaders. This is why business leaders are a lot less common. Teaching students that they can be more successful than working under someone is something that should be done
In Yucaipa High School; one of the very few high schools in Yucaipa, there contains Academies created to help students focus on a specific field of work such as the medical Academy. Yet there is no Business Academy offered to the student body; business being one of the most needed and job producing fields out of all of the career fields. One of the most simple solutions is to create an academy for business, or slowly working in business lessons into everyday classrooms, or at very least offer a class that teaches the basic business concepts.
Many of the most important lessons in business education involve learning how to place academic concepts in a work setting. For applied
Leadership is the hallmark of any prominent business school. The pedagogy employed at a prominent business school equips its graduates for success and provides a standard of excellence to which peer institutions aspire. The following two initiatives are designed to extend the leadership and influence in business education.
Today, there is a huge competition in every business around the globe. To achieve my dream and goal, I need to develop myself and gain knowledge in the management sector; therefore, I have opted to pursue Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management Packaged course at TAFE SA, Adelaide City Campus, where I will be able to learn skills required to lead the team and manage business effectively with international standards. Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management Packaged course is not available in my home country and I am particularly interested in this course as it covers core units such as developing and implementing business plan, lead and manage organisational change, manage finances, and provide leadership across the
It's a nationwide policy that decides the pathway for high education and ensures that students are provided with quality hands-on training during the course of the programme. The framework is applicable for secondary, higher and vocational education and training (VET) courses. So, no matter what program you choose to study, you get standard education accepted all across the world.
This is where information technology can be used to improve such process. Currently, students must choose from two primary methods. They are face-to-face and online respectively. Yet, with the use of information technology, UTRGV is able to implement and offer students a third option. This option will be better suited to meet the needs of two across both the Edinburg and Brownsville campuses. It is through the usage of the online meeting and videoconferencing application WebEx that a third course delivery method is able to be offered. Through WebEx, professors are able to live-streamed (and record) their lectures across both campuses. Specifically, professors are able to share their screens and hold an interactive lecture where all the students (even those 70 miles away) are able to contribute and ask questions. Without question, this is of great advantage to students especially when only one course section is being offered. It will eliminate unnecessary travel time and costs which could be put to better productive use elsewhere. For a visual representation of the new business process, please see Figure 1: Business Process Analysis of UTRGV Course
I am a MBA student taking different courses to develop a great understanding of the various aspects that businesses entails. I want to be well –versed in a variety of other areas that will make me confident in my career.
As a first time manager my short term goal (next 2-3 years) is to establish myself in my current role and develop my management skills. Drucker (2005) discusses the importance of working to my strengths, having good self-awareness and an understanding how I perform. As part of my career goal I would like to complete the relevant tertiary education (MBA) to equip me with the tools to enable my success.
I was really interested in Business analysis and after taking this course I made a goal myself to initiate a new company by myself but I think I need more knowledge, technical skills and managing skills. The way you teach the topics with real life examples of your own will give me grip on this subject. I got some more motivation after telling her experience in real life and taught us how world relies on Information
At the start of this class I questioned how you could be taught business in a class setting. I truly felt that business is something that you gained knowledge through experience, on the job training, and company advancements. In the past few weeks of digging into our Intro to Business class (chapters 1-8), I feel that I actually have a better understanding of how and why things work the way they do in a business setting. I’ve had business employment experience; and I feel that I have had a few moments in the literature of this class that gave me a bit of a “aha” moment. Moments that I was able to link back to my experience and thought, now it all makes sense.
It also includes the delivery of content via Internet, intranet/extranet (LAN/WAN), audio- and videotape, satellite broadcast, podcast, interactive TV, CD-ROM, and more. E-learning programs are endowed with a training system, which employees can access, where face-to-face instruction is not possible because the very nature is that it is borderless and potentially global in scope. With e-learning methods, training can take place on-demand, and trainees can be given greater control over their learning than ever before (Rosenberg 2001). This increased control has the potential to improve training effectiveness. E-learning courses add value to traditional learning modes by offering self-paced or live, instructed training classes. Specifically, self-paced courses can be taken at the employee's leisure and are good for self-motivated persons. Typically these types of courses can be taken at convenience of the busy workers as well as for globally dispersed employees. Hence workplace training needs to be broadened and customized (Marc J. Rosenberg & Steven Foreman 2010). Live e-learning is capable of instant updating, storage/retrieval, distribution and sharing of instruction and information. Soft skills such as management, leadership, or team building can be tackled in this environment. However, this type of training works best if the class size is limited to 25
Another reason for studying management is the reality that for most of you, once you graduate from college and being you career, you will either manage or be managed. For those who plan on management careers, an understanding of the management process forms the foundation upon which to build your management skills. For those of you who don\ 't see yourself in a management position, you are still likely to have work with managers. Assuming that you will have to work for a living and recognizing that you are verylikely to work in an organization, you shall probably have some managerial responsibilities even if you are not a manager. Our experience tells us that you can gain a great deal of insight into the way your boss behaves and the internal workings of organizations by studying management. Our point is that you don\ 't have to aspire to be a manager to gain something valuable from a course in management.
Availability of a course syllabus was one of the good things that defined the semester. The course syllabus explained the topics that would be taught throughout the semester. Thus, students oriented their minds with the requirements of the course. Such a situation contributed to a substantive part of the success achieved during the course. In addition, the professor encouraged groups work among the students. According to Brown (2014), group work enhance co-operation among the students. Undoubtedly, the teamwork resulting from the group work led to better understanding of business concepts as well contribution of new
