Management is the process of getting tasks done through the use of people. Through management decisions, our team will have one of the leading coffee shops within the BizCafe simulation. Within the management aspect of the company, we must first look at human capital, which are the skills, values, and overall output of an employee and the price at which these facets are worth. The managers of The Grind must delegate tasks through the serving staff of our company. The servers are the face of The Grind, meaning that it will be the servers who will interact to build strong customer relations with the guests of The Grind. However, there should be an efficient number of servers working on the clock at any given time throughout the day; The Grind should strive to always be properly staffed. If the shop is understaffed, customers will experience longer wait times, rushed customer interactions, and an overall subordinate experience; however, if the shop is overstaffed, each individual employee is most likely to give less production, and more importantly, our shop’s payroll will be out of proportion, meaning we will be spending too much money on labor. Wages also effect overall production from the employees. If we pay our servers too little, compared to the competition, we are likely to see less production, unhappy employees, and a large turnover rate. On the other hand, if we pay our servers too much, we risk blowing our weekly labor cap if our sales do not exceed the

A proposed organizational structure for IT department that would sustain the transformation of AgCredit into a process-centric organization is different than what they exploit currently. Centralized IT structure would fit best for AgCredit’s upcoming transformation. This will help company since centralized structure would require taking orders from higher management. Employees will understand more of the company’s vision when they take direct orders from higher management. To make sure the entire project is done right a more navigated team will be needed, they will also be able to help through approval process of all projects. To make this transformation process smoother conversion team will need to ensure all the business and IT projects fit within a service oriented architecture (SOA) framework. CEO and CIO both should be involved in all these diverse team so they can keep eyes on all the work that is being taking place and also to make sure employees are working towards the right direction. CFO also should be involved in both business and IT departments, where he can give a better understanding of cost components. It would be helpful if they also hire someone from outside with senior management experience, who can help company with business

The world of business has undergone radical and dramatic changes in the last decade changes that present extraordinary challenges for the contemporary manager. A manager is an organizational member who is responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and controlling the activities of the organization so that the goals can be achieved. According to a widely referenced study by Henry Mintzberg, managers serve three primary roles: interpersonal, informational, and decision-making. Management is process of administrating and coordinating resources effectively and efficiently in an effort to achieve the goals of the organization.

1. What factors contribute to the rapid pace of change in business? Is the pace likely to accelerate or decrease over the next decade? Why?

There are communication concerns between business and IT sectors. The relationship confidential the whole association does not work adequately, Hefty does not arise up with a composite way that initiatives both IT and commercial organization, hereafter ignoring to proposal a solid IT methodology.

The partnership at Hefty Hardware between IT and the business is not effective. One of the core problems faced by Hefty Hardware was the lack of a productive, working relationship between the company’s IT and business divisions. The four building blocks needed for a foundation on which a solid relationship could be constructed; competence, credibility, interpersonal interactions, and trust, were not present between the two divisions (McKeen & Smith, 2012). The business division felt IT lacked competence when dealing with business needs, demonstrated by the IT department not having knowledge of Hefty Hardware’s basic business concerns, goals or processes.

This portfolio focus on what I have learned during the whole IT Strategy and Control paper, a critical reflection of this paper would be provided. This reflection includes the key points, support reference and the demonstration of my own understanding about the paper itself and all of my personal understandings are based on the learning outcome of this paper. In the first part of this portfolio, I would discuss all the key IT Operations Management framework which have been introduced in the paper, the analysis of the processes based on my own understanding would be given. In the second part, analyze processes required for aligning IT infrastructure and operations with the business goals of an organization would be talked about, and I would focus a business organization which has been mentioned in the caselets as a sample. In the third part, some critical evaluate operational IT organizations and their processes against the studied models would be listed and analyzed. In the last part, the recommendations and analysis of my own would be given against those organizations (caselets) which have some problems and current issues arising from the implementation of the IT framework.
