“Where is the Mango Princess”, written by Cathy Crimmins, is the journey through her husband’s, Alan’s, brain injury. Alan was hit on the head by a speedboat, and from which, he suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Eventually, awakening from his coma, his recovery took his wife and child on a roller coaster ride of emotions. This story explores the heartbreaking and frustrating experiences of a caregiver to a patient recovering from TBI. Crimmins uses slight humor and honesty to welcome the reader into the chaotic life of caring for her husband. This book has darker themes like most, so it is important that the atmosphere is kept light and airy through humorous attempts. It is the most admirable trait that Crimmins has, in my opinion. I’m not fond of reading, so the humor kept me occupied; I really enjoyed the humorous aspects of this story. This book also focuses on educating the beholder about TBI and the effects of severe brain damage. Though Alan had recovered physically from the accident, his mental recovery was still an on-going process in which rehab was required. She went on to describe the accident as: “One day, you and your family are hiking across a long, solid plain, when out of the sky comes a blazing meteor that just happens to hit one family member on the head. The meteor creates a huge rift in the landscape, dragging the unlucky one down to the bottom of the crevice it has made. You spend the next year on a rescue mission, helping him climb to the top,

Apalachicola Bay is wide estuarine system located in Florida panhandle and covers an area about 539 km2 (Figure-1). The bay is relatively shallow with an average depth of 3.0 m. It is one of the most productive natural systems in North America and highly recognized by the state, federal and international organizations for its pristine water quality and unaffected estuarine habitats (ANERR, 2008). Apalachicola bay and its barrier islands were formed by deltaic processes of Apalachicola River, which is one the unpolluted alluvial system left in the United States. What separates a group from a community? What separates an individual from a group? The answer is not stereotypes. A black man should not be separated by their color but by their integrity, talents, and capability. Every person is different in their own way. They are molded and shaped by the people that surround them. The community and the place affect how one will grow up. If someone is living in a big city, they will have a different life than one in the country.
Waterways are a crucial part of transportation, food and income for many people. The Chesapeake Bay provides hundreds of people with jobs, habitats for a wide variety of animals and transportation for goods. Since John Smith sailed to America and upon entering the Bay said “Within is a country that may have the prerogative over the most pleasant places known, for large and pleasant navigable rivers, heaven and earth never agreed better to frame a place for man's habitation” (John Smith) the Bay has been an integral part of life in the United States. Recently overfishing, invasive species and runoff have led to the declining health of the Bay. Sustainable solutions should and are being implemented to ensure the long lasting health of the Chesapeake
Where is the Raritan Bay in New Jersey? Well, the Raritan Bay is located between the border of New Jersey and New York. What help does the Raritan Bay do for the human population? The Raritan Bay is where most shipments on water can be delivered through. Why is it important to clean the Raritan Bay? Well, over the years when New Jersey was where all the factories at and the shipment docks, because of that, after the factories that have been shut down, all the pollution and waste has gone into the Raritan Bay. The Raritan Bay used to be a place where everyone came to and fished, relaxed, and enjoy the bay… Now, it’s closed off, because of all the chemicals in the water from the factories. Many citizens of New Jersey fish there still, but don’t know how dangerous the water is. Pollution can harm humans and the animals, it’s time to take a stand and clean the Raritan Bay, before it’s too late.
I am Coral and I live about 5000 feet below sea level in the Coral Sea. During the week of May 4-8, 1942, the first air- sea battle in history took place as I watched from below. Japan was looking to control the Coral Sea by taking all of New Guinea and the Solomon Islands to remove all of the Allied bases between Japan and Australia. They also wished to take over and destroy the American navy’s aircraft carriers since they were not able to do so in the Battle at Pearl Harbor. On the 3rd of May, the Japanese occupied Tulagi island and set up a seaplane base. The next day, the Allied forces, led by Rear Admiral Frank J. Fletcher, launched strikes against Tulagi. The attack eliminated the Japanese use of the base which sparked the beginning of this battle. The Yorktown sunk a Japanese destroyer and five merchant ships and join the Lexington later that day. May 6th, Australia spotted the Japanese but failed to shoot it down. They both continued to search for each other unsuccessfully due to partial visibility in the area of operations. Admiral Fletcher decided to separate his forces so that one was more susceptible to Japanese air attack without being under any coverage. Although, neither American force was successful in finding the Japanese forces, the Japanese aircraft was able to find and sink several U.S. ships and aircrafts. On May 8th, the Japanese and the Allies found each other and launched all accessible aircrafts. The Japanese shot down the Yorktown and the Lexington with bombs and torpedoes. At the same time, the Allied forces attacked a Japanese carrier but was unable to

Native to Jamaican culture is spicy, colourful food such as salt fish, rice, jerk chicken, fish, banana fritters, and roasted yams . Looking back to the years of slavery, the African slaves ate left overs of what the wealthy people they worked for did not want to eat. As this type of cuisine was not readily found in food shops in Canada, Canadian restaurants, grocery stores and, food courts have added Jamaican food options in order to be culturally sensitive to the Jamaican migrant culture. With the migration of Jamaicans settling to Canada, there has been a huge impact on the cuisine. They brought their spices and recipes which added to the continually growing taste, flavours, and variety of Canadian
Plants and animals are such beautiful living things. There are over 700 different types of plants that made Wasaga Beach their home and 4 out of 700 are rare in Canada. Some of those plants exist because of the sand dunes that make the beach. Just walking around the park the view of the flowers is enticing like the Moccasin flower Orchids (Figure 5) or the British Lichen (Figure 6). There are also plants that are not enticing like the poison ivy that lurks in the bushes.
