My placement at Mantzoros and Partners was an educational week. I learnt a lot about working in this field yet I found myself bored a lot as I didn’t get the chance to do many practical activities. I spent most my time filing and assisting the secretary who supervised me during the day. The highlight if my week would be my trip to the district courts, although it was long and sometimes hard to focus on it, I learnt a lot about criminal trials and the district courts.
To be successful in this field you need to be extremely dedicated to the cases you working on to ensure the client gets the best outcome possible. They need to be flexible and be able to adapt and improvise during court. They need to be organized as I saw some people at the

On my first day I arrived early and introduced myself to the receptionist and promptly followed the instructions I was given.
From my placement I was able to develop my five capabilities and improved many skills including communication, developing a good work ethic, learning, how to look at the bigger picture for someone else, organization, and time management. All these skills will benefit me for the rest of my life as I continue to develop them in my life and whatever career path I choose. My enthusiasm, and willingness to try new tasks were especially useful in my placement, though I found it hard to display my full initiative as I was not qualified to assign myself tasks and solve problems related to the cases.
In organizing my work placement at such a busy workplace I found it easiest to be to the point in my communication with them as it was often hard for them to find time. After sending emails I learnt to avoid emailing due to the large volume of emails they receive and went with methods such as mail and visiting them when they were quiet. If I were to organise work experience again I would attend a field that was more hands on, as I really do appreciate the experience I gained from this there wasn’t much I could do as an unqualified person in this field, which placed stress on the business trying to find me

My placement only gave me a brief idea of what being a lawyer is like and though I don’t believe it was an accurate representation of the career. I am beginning to look into alternative options that I will be able to follow in my final years of high school, as I don’t believe this is the only option I should consider as 4there are many jobs I now think I would be better suited to.
My capability that I originally choose at the beginning of the year to focus on was communication. I think I have developed this skill from the beginning of the year, inside and outside of school. Organising an Easter egg collection with a group highlighted the importance of communicating with those around you to be efficient. I also now have a part time job where communication is vital between everyone at the workplace including customers to keep it running properly. In the future I can still work on communicating my own thoughts and ideas and listening more carefully to what others say to avoid missing
Ever since I can remember I wanted to become a lawyer. I didn't know what exact practice I wanted to do, but I knew belonged in a court room. When I was in middle school, I started the first debate team at my school because I researched and discovered that debating could help me become an effective attorney. My 8th grade year I researched the best high school in the Dallas Independent School District that could prepare me to become a lawyer; that turned out to be Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet. JBS Law Magnet required their students to apply in order to attend. Their application process was rigorous; I had to compile a folder of essays and work I did over the years, write two times essays, and have an interview. After I did all of this, a
Team work, being good in working with people in different organisations and class. This type of skill can be seen in my study group is university, being part of two different societies in university and a sports team leader
One specific skill was time management. In the fifth grade I was involved in so many extracurricular activities, and believe it or not I had to manage my studies with other outside involvements. I was involved in basketball, track, choir, first communion, boys and girls club, and soccer. I had so many practices that I had to attend throughout that school year, but I had a mindset that school came first. To get the opportunity to do everything I had to develop a great schedule. My mom taught me that there isn’t anything more important than my education, so sports and other family events came second. Another skill I picked up from this award was to be self-dependent in my studies, which meant I didn’t need help anymore. I didn’t need anyone to check my homework, help me study, or help me do my projects and
I came to learn how important the legal system is to the sustainability of society as it is essential in upholding contracts, human rights, operation of organizations, and most importantly justice. Courses in my undergraduate studies have improved my analytical and critical skills as well as understanding of human institutions and values, but most importantly helped me to further solidify my career choice. I see myself contributing to society with my law degree in the future by upholding justice and therefore contributing to the creation of economically stable, just, and diverse
Throughout my Senior Project, learning the piano has taught me important skills that grown ups used in the real world. I have learned transferable skills that will help me beyond high school and into the real world of adults. Timeliness, that I start to use my habit of arriving early to meet up with my mentor because sometimes you don’t know if you’ll face traffic on the way or a road close, and being early or on time makes a good impression with the person you're working with. Another skill I have learned to improve on is prioritize an important event, that I learned to see which assignment is important and need to be done before having to start with the other assignments. Balancing both college class and Senior Project as well as Political Studies assignment throughout each week
Having the ability to pitch and implement ideas is a real boost in self-confidence. Most of the projects were fully completed, the only exception is inputting all the program cards, in a highly effective manner. The placement help develops further career goals, and personal goals regarding the field placement. Working with Yina is great since she is super knowledgeable and hardworking. There are a few recommendations that could be implemented, such as having an office for the students or a longer length of time for the placement but nothing I would particularity stress on. After this placement I am excited to go into the tech industry and seeing exactly what it has to
One of my strengths includes breaking down course material learned in class. If a classmate is stuck on a certain topic, I like to help that classmate by breaking down the material in a way that they can understand.
I am not one of those individuals who realized that a career in the legal field would be their lifelong dream from the age of six or even twelve, or to be honest, after graduating high school. I have been aimless for a majority of my life, and it shows. I chose to major in biotechnology, then after a few semesters, decided to double major in literature. I then went on to become president of an academic society focused on International studies. It was not until I took the course Law and Business in my Sophomore year with Professor Jisoo Lee that I believed I could be nothing else but a lawyer. I was enthralled by what others found tedious and boring, spending every available minute reading case files and figuring out ways to, as my professor

For this unit in STEP class some skills I have learned in this unit would be how to professionally debate, I learned what a socratic semminar is and how to do it with my piers, my class and I dug deep into bullying and what we can do to prevent it and change ourselves, I learned there is more words than the ones I use repetivatly, and I obtained how to do a K-W-L chart. Skills I have strengthened are my use of words, essays, and most importantly getting myself out there and involved daily.
Furthermore, preparing and packing the café every morning and afternoon depended on how well we worked as team, for example helping another worker when you have finished you own workload. My main strength in this whole course would be my personal development, as I was able to gain my own skills, attitudes, and knowledge, such as my technological skills for example, how to source useful information that is relevant to my work. Another example is becoming more confident about myself, as I am able to freely express my emotion without thinking of any sort of limitation that will limit my progress of taking risks for the fear of failure.
Personal SWOT Analysis Strengths Working under pressure My previous employments at Compass and Sainsbury’s have involved working as part of a small team, and at times have required me to work under pressure. I coped with this very well and showed that I was able to communicate effectively with others to get the job done within the deadline. I have learnt to provide excellent customer care through my experience of dealing with a wide variety of people.
selected for this position, I will not only be able to further develop my research skills and
social skill, and helped me to be better in my communicator. And i got prepared of being
Lastly, the last skill I have acquired over the years is integrity. In elementary school, I hopped the bandwagon and joined Girl Scouts. During my time as a Girl Scout, I learned a lot about being honest and truthful through the core values of the organization. This caused me to take a leadership role while in the eighth grade by coming head of the student council at the time. I had to make sure everyone was treated fair and the council ran to the best of its ability. Moreover, when I entered high school, I made sure to challenge myself to stay consistent and true with my beliefs. I did this by making sure to always choose the right choice and to stay true to myself. Currently, I have overcome the challenges that have occurred while growing up and have been consistent with my thoughts and beliefs.
