I've always been interested in past lives, how fascinating would it be to know who you've been before and how that has effected who you are today? After reading "Many Lives Many Masters" by Dr. Brian Weiss I knew I wanted to give past life regression a try. I found a psychologist in my area that has trained with Dr. Weiss and booked my two hour appointment.
The session started off with her asking me about my life, what my expectations were, and what I hoped to learn. She told me what to expect during the session and what she's experienced with other patients. She had me lay on the couch and get comfortable and then she led me into a hypnotic state. When she woke me up about an hour and half later it felt like hardly any time had passed. I

In past life regression they talk about a resting place between lives, at one point the therapist took me there and directed me to ask my guide or guardian angel what I could learn in this place. I discovered that we need to learn specific lessons in order to further develop our souls and that we’ll keep coming back here and facing the same situations in different forms until we learn. It is exactly as Pema Chodron said, "Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know”. This is true across past and present lifetimes.
We each have our own specific lessons to be learned in this lifetime. Intentions are the lessons we came to this life to learn and living an intentional, purposeful life is everything. Through regression I discovered the specific lessons I came to this life to learn, these were the same things I struggled with in past lives. I realized I need to work on letting other people in, to drop the walls of fear and protection I’ve built around me. I also need to learn to let go of needing to feel in control and be able to trust the Universe's plan for me. These are my two life intentions and I know to pay special attention when they show up in my current
My second method was researching the professional and incredible hypnotist Richard Barker, and looking at interviews that he has done, his website, and videos of him performing hypnosis. Some background information about Richard Barker is that for the last 20 years he has worked his “magic” of hypnosis on thousands of patients around the world. One of the reasons that Richard Barker is an all around renown hypnotist is because of his unique style of hypnotism. His style brings many new angles to hypnotism, he is an entertainer as much as he is a professional and one of the many goals that he has set for himself, according to his website The Incredible Hypnotist, “My aim is to ensure when you leave my show you will remember it for the rest of
The consultation process should be concerned with two primary aims; knowing the person and informing the person. The latter is somewhat less involved and aims to ensure that the client has a clear understanding of the therapist, the nature of hypnosis, and the guidelines within which both are framed. Clients need to know that they are dealing with a
It is also essential that the therapist gains a thorough understanding of what the client’s expectations of hypnotherapy are. The client may have previous experience and details should be obtained around the type of therapy received and what this was used for. Any particular styles used and the client’s reactions to these styles. Success of therapy is very important and exploring the client’s previous experiences will reveal barriers and/or successful approaches for this client.
Rebecca Gilman’s The Glory of Living is an ambitious piece of writing. The playwright takes on the challenge of exploring how an eighteen-year-old girl has ended up on death row, convicted of multiple murders. The play’s opening scene is exciting and engaging, and Gilman has a strong grasp of the characters she has created, but as the action progresses, it becomes evident that the play is missing something. The Glory of Living’s shortcomings exemplify the need for playwrights to focus on developing a Major Dramatic Question, and a protagonist with a strong want.
The film “Waging a Living” was based around four people Jarry, Jean, Barb, and Mary. The documentary followed these people and told each of their individual struggles with day to day activities because of the low wages they earn. One in four American workers, more than 30 million people, have jobs that pay less than the federal poverty level for a family of four. The purpose behind producing this film was to sway public outlook on people with low earning jobs, and to help make changes to the income these people receive. Jarry is a security guard and makes about 12 dollars an hour which is barely enough to pay for the basic needs in life including his one room apartment that cost $535 per month and monthly child support.
When a client goes to see a hypnotherapist for a session it is an essential key to find out clues about them, to see what are there likes and dislikes and how they process. A hypnotherapist will usually in the first session try to get to know the client by having a general chat so that they can use an induction in the PMR which will be suitable for the client and make the experience more enjoyable. Clients should know that hypnothercapy is not a therapy but a process where a therapy can be effectively delivered.
The article is about a woman that started going through problems in an early age. The woman name in the article is M. By giving a full explanation during the initial consultation you help reduce the patients nerves and anxieties, these need to be resolved if the patient is going to involve themselves effectively and willingly into the process of hypnosis. Not only does it allow for the client to ask questions regarding hypnosis and the process it also allows the practical questions to be asked, such as length of treatment, cost, confidentiality agreement etc. This ensure realistic boundaries and expectations are put in to place right from the start of the treatment process again helping put to rest any anxieties. It also ensures both parties are aware from the start the cost and length of treatment so that there is no malicious intent, checking that the therapist is always working ethically.
Some people spend their entire lives constantly asking themselves, “What do I ultimately want to do with the time I am given here on Earth?” On the other hand, some individuals are lucky enough to have insight on what exactly they want to accomplish or who they want to become. Yet despite this, they never have the courage or ambition to manifest it into existence. Fortunately for me, I have always had a clear vision of what I plan on doing in my future, and I’m certainly not hesitant to make it a reality. Naturally, I am a compassionate person who enjoys helping others, and I’m also intensely interested in health and wellness.
Too often we get bogged down in our past, and in memories of events that we think define us and restrict us from moving forward. The truth is that we can decide today who we want to be. We may have some baggage, and we may have future dreams, but today is the only day where we can define who we are and what direction we want our lives to go.
All these effects of resurfacing of repressed memories had caused the author’s life swaying between happiness and extreme depression. She couldn’t live a life with a healthy relationship with her boyfriends, fail to further her studies in the University, and only settle her life through odd jobs (Survivor Blog, 2009).
There are many lessons to learn in life. I believe that we are dealt with some trials, some larger than others. We make choices based on our reactions to these certain circumstances some of us regret our choices or decisions and learn from them to do better the next time. I believe that is what life is about. What choices we make and the outcome of the choices and what we can do to make it better is our decision.
This will to meaning is the culmination of our developmental process. To cultivate an individual’s capacity to find meaning in their life is the greatest goal, and the source of mankind’s anxiety and neuroses. We all wish to find the meaning within our life, and are unfulfilled when we miss the mark. But according to Frankl, there is always meaning in life, in every single moment, from one to the next we all are capable of making a choice about ourselves, and beyond that, have a responsibility to do so. Even with the transitory nature of our existence and hopelessness in the face of certain death, there is still meaning to be found, there is still freedom to be earned.
There’s a lot we can learn from the stories of our past – if we tell them in such way that enables us to hear what they really have to say. This holds true with me and my life. To put it simply, the life I’ve lived up to this point has been nothing short of a beautiful (and bumpy) roller coaster ride! As I have grown up there have been many factors that have influenced me to take on or do certain things. These things, plus some of my individual choices, have contributed into what’s made me who I am today. And with that, I’m happy to say for this moment in time, I’m satisfied with the person I am and the path I’m taking.
I am not talking all of the substances that the past life connection with the present. The main concern of my past influences is if we had our bad past life, how to overcome them and just take a good lesion to move forward in our life. Everyone must have gone with different situations in the past. We could have very interesting past lives as well; some of us might have spent the horrible due to certain tragedy we never want to remember that again. Whatever the past either it is sweet or bitter, past is already gone but the memory has left us with us frequently affecting our present. We have to learn to be proud for the accomplishment we made instead of regretting with the failure in the past. We have to celebrate our reward even we had a bitter time yesterday. That is already passed away and never come back but our present is more precious that we have to deserve
