People spend money every day on goods and services. Paper with the faces of influential people and numerous values can be found in pockets, parking lots, and many other places. While it may seem that we should keep Grant on the fifty dollar bill it is actually true that Reagan should be the honored image on the fifty dollar bill.

The Maryland Charter St. Mary of the Angels School has developed a practical and philosophical approach to education called the Maryland Charter. The goal of the Maryland Charter is to prepare young people to be good American citizens and Catholic faithful by providing them with a pedagogical approach that stresses the development of moral character, a living faith, fundamental intellectual aptitude and logical analysis, as well as a strong and confident social disposition. It is our hope that these efforts of ours, in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Chicago, will inspire other Catholic schools. The Maryland Charter was named for the Catholics who came to the New World in search of religious freedom.

Being in a sorority is very rewarding yet can be very time consuming. Each member that is part of a sorority has a huge role to play even if you do not hold a position within the organization. Alpha Sigma Alpha is a national sorority who is heavily involved with community service and their three national philanthropies, St. June Smith, Special Olympics, and Girls on the Run, as well as local philanthropy year after year. For week seven assignment, I chose the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes does incredible work with babies who are premature and they also focus on keeping mother’s healthy during pregnancy to prevent infant mortality. The March of Dimes was created in 1938 by Franklin D. Roosevelt to combat polio which was on the raise at that time.
I came into Norwalk Community College looking for a fresh start. I previously attended a 4 year university that became too much for me; attending school full-time, working 30 hours per week while trying to enjoy the college experience. At the cost of an “experience” I ended up failing most of my classes, putting my health at risk drowned by the tremendous amount of stress and just wanted to completely give up. Looking for a fresh start I decided to leave my University, and attend Norwalk Community College. Though this decision created self-doubt in the beginning, it soon came to my realization that it was the best decision I ever made. Immersed in an environment full of positive people, I was able to put my pieces back together.
National Honors society would be an amazing opportunity for me. I believe I would be a perfect fit
Thank you for giving me a chance to join the National Honor Society (NHS) to further my current and future learning endeavors. Being nominated due to having a high grade point average opened my mind further into how important it is to follow through with learning through and beyond the school and the benefits those grades can get me, such as joining the NHS. While I am aware that school is about far more than learning for grades alone, I am overjoyed with this chance.
During the early 1930s, the world was at a turning point from all areas. The Great War had taken the lives of many young men demonstrating how important life was, while the roaring twenties saw men and women waste their lives away from all the parties and social interaction. During this time, many would rise and fall throughout the political world, ultimately leading to the rise of the Great Depression and the ultimate economic downturn to occur within all of history. Many would come to try their best at retraining the United States into its powerful nation. However, only one man would be able to develop a plan that would not only bring the United States out of the upcoming world events and leave a legacy both within the United States and

“I pledge you, I pledge myself, to a new deal for the American people,” President Franklin Delano Roosevelt said after winning his party’s nomination in 1932 ("A New Deal for Americans"). The 1930s was a time of great economic depression; in response the New Deal was FDR’s plan for America’s recovery. By 1933, when FDR took office, one in four Americans was unemployed. Furthermore, there was widespread hunger, malnutrition, overcrowding, and poor health. The New Deal was made to combat these tragic conditions and it did so through the means of welfare and government intervention. Indeed, the New Deal was a radical change to the way America had
