Friendly Character The character I would like to have as a friend from the book POP is Marcus Jordan. Marcus has just moved to Kennesaw, New York in and I can relate to that because I have moved a few times. But the main reason that I would like to have him as a friend is three character traits he has. These three character traits are courage, resilience, and he is caring of his friends.
Courage: Marcus showed courage when he was trying out for the football team and the players and coaches didn’t want him there. He also showed courage to step up and be the starting quarterback for the biggest game of the year.
Resilience: He showed resilience when he tried out for the football team even though the coach and player did not want him there.
His resilience,
Looking forward a few years later both characters Marcus and Chiron continues to have struggles from their past. Marcus is constantly being hunted by the fact that he believes the man Slim, who supposedly killed his mother is still alive on the streets, while trying to hide and keep his street life away from his grandparents. While Chiron still is very shy and confused with his sexuality on top on getting bullied by a homophobic bully throughout middle and high school. Both of the young men have people in their lives that’s trying to help guide them towards the right direction in life but it seemed like Marcus and Chiron were going into two opposite directions.
Having Jeison as a hero for kids with their own disabilities is very rare, knowing they have someone to relate to can give them hope. When Jeison was in the adult life he wanted others to know the values that disabled kids have just the same as any other kids.(crowdrise.com) Changing perspectives, organizing a facility for kids with disabilities, all while living with a disability himself shows how Jeison Aristazabal characteristics fit a hero’s personality.
The mythological story "A Worn Path” is of tales and figures, the most considerable, being the legend of the phoenix. There are numerous symbols and allusions brought about in the story relating to the legend of the phoenix. The phoenix is a bird that comes from Egyptian mythology. The best analogy of the phoenix is a magnificent bird. The phoenix has astonishing powers. It has the knack to materialize and vanish in the blink of an eye. The myth states the phoenix travels to the sun. The sun gives the phoenix it powers. The heat incinerates the bird. The bird is reborn from the ashes. From her name along with appearance to her action and the symbolism throughout the story, Phoenix Jackson is the manifestation of the phoenix (bird).
“I'll be all around in the dark. I'll be everywhere. Wherever you can look—wherever there's a fight so hungry people can eat, I'll be there,” a quote said by Tom Joad from John Steinbeck’s novel Grapes of Wrath. Written during the great depression, John Steinbeck depicts a Oklahoma family traveling to California for work after losing their farm. The main character Tom Joad is first seen as caring only for himself and his family. By the ending the novel Tom has grown from caring about himself to caring and seeing the whole world as his family.
Reverend John Hale from Beverly, Massachusetts was summoned to Salem, a town full of supposed witches, manipulative children, a corrupt government, and depraved leaders, yet he takes on an impossible task of saving the wicked from themselves. Playwright Arthur Miller's 1950’s play, The Crucible, displays static character John Hale as a determined, willing, young man who stays true to his morals and remains righteous and compassionate throughout the work. Beginning to end, John Hale exhibits consistent traits as an eager and zealous individual, although at times ingenuous; additionally, Hale displays honesty and morality through the four Acts that complete his compassionate and trusting personality.
He is very motivated when is comes to getting something he wants. One time he told me he wanted a car, so he worked hard at his job. He did overtime and tried to call in as much as possible. Now he drives the car he loves a Volkswagen. Another one of his strength is his confidence. His confidence helps him in school whenever he has to speak in front of the class. It can also help in relationships and in his career. He is also very competitive, Marcus is not a man who likes to lose. He always gives everything 100 percent. One time we were playing a game of pool, and he took the game so serious. I could tell by the look he was giving every shot he made. He had a very serious look, a look that showed determination and confidence in every shot he did. Marcus strength’s is what makes him different from anyone else.
A positive attitude can help you inspire others, improve your health, and even add years to your life. Great Leaders stay positive even through the worst situations. Robert is an outstanding leader when it comes to staying positive. Through tough times that the narrator's wife endured in her past, she would turn to Robert for help. Robert, being the positive man he is, guides her through these tough times. This shows that Robert is a compassionate man that takes the time to listen to others. The Narrator despised Robert, and made it known by making jokes at Robert. Robert easily could have got mad or upset, However, he would still remain positive. It is very important for a leader to not drop down to the level of negativity of others. One of
Jamal Idris is certainly an interesting character who was never afraid to speak his mind, and his views and the way he presented himself on and off the field compared to other Rugby League players was certainly refreshing. He grew up in Forster, before moving to Sydney to further his sporting aspirations in Rugby League, and more notably, athletics. The 25-year-old made his NRL debut for the Canterbury Bulldogs in 2008 at the ripe age of 18, but even then was bigger than most players on the field.
All the main characters show strong heroic personalities in themselves; none of them are afraid of death when they face it. Even though their friends sacrificed in front of them, they will still wipe off the tears and keep carry on. When the bridge falls, the shrapnel from the blast strikes Anselmo and kills him. Robert Jordan holds his dead body, “He did not turn him over to see what piece of steel had done. He was dead and that was all.” (Hemingway, 446) He should be happy because he successfully blew up the bridge, but his friend’s death still make him feel uncomfortable. But he knows, this is war--this is how cruel the war is. Your loved ones, your friends, they all die. Even though you know this is wrong, but you just have to do it.It
John William is an extremely unique character, once described by Althea Mastroianni as “brilliant but eccentric and disturbed” (201). Rand Barry said that he liked working at Boeing because it was “challenging and stimulating” (217). John’s disturbed eccentric brilliance, challenged and stimulated Neil, thus ensuring he craved it. This craving is exactly why John William was always successful at drawing Neil back into his life. Neil and John have a very unique relationship, being each other's only friend.
They said that I am had really good names for my characters. It was good and they liked my word choice. I have selected the view of my main character because I think people can relate more to my main character if they no all of his emotions and why he did this or that.
I am Tyler Levens a sophomore in high school, I live in Softlake city in the country of Briar. I am writing this journal as an account of what happened in my life from 23 March 2075. Everything in his notebook is very true I don’t understand everything yet but I hope you do. Where should I start? Let me begin from the evening I got the texts. I remember that I came home from school, mom hasn’t come back from work yet and my sisters are still at school. I unlocked my phone to see what has happened. There I found 2 videos that were sent from Tamara Williams. I recall the name Tamara Williams with no hesitation she used to be my best friend since first grade, that was until she stopped coming to school in sixth grade, I heard that she started getting homeschooled, and we just never met anymore. I tried going over once, but her parents
Nearly three and a half years ago, I walked into Mr. Matthew Hanson’s classroom for the first time. On the surface, Hanson seemed like your ordinary, nonchalant music teacher. I never imagined that his office would become my safe-haven. Despite the hills and the valleys, he has always been my constant. I was able to confide in him when I couldn’t trust anyone else. He’s always encouraged me to push through even when I felt like I had nothing left. He helped me identify my weaknesses and see my strengths. His most admiral quality is his honesty. He tells me what I need to hear, rather than what I want to hear. I distinctly remember one conversation we had during my freshman year. I came to him in tears because I had just received some terrible
Both George Milton and Gigi Jordan, the mother of an autistic child, stepped forward to take the lives of their loved ones and spare them from pain and agony. Gigi Jordan had given herself and her son, Jude Jordan, an amount of drugs she believed would take her life and his after she found out some horrific news. Gigi found this news out one night when, “Jude sat upright in the bed and started screaming clearly and as perfectly as I can spreak right now, ‘Dad bad! Dad bad! Dad bad,’ at the top of his lungs, she said, tearfully referring to Tzekov, Jude’s biological dad (Roosenberg 1). Jude had also told her he had been sexually abused by his adoptive father and Jordan’s ex-husband Raymond Mirra, his wife and two babysitters, she felt the need to spare him from the abuse in addition to the abuse of Tzekov. Not only did Jude tell Gigi about the terrifying abuse, he also told her how specifically, Tzekov hurt him. Jude explained the brutal abuse he was facing as having feces shoved into his mouth, needles stuck under his fingernails, and stabbed in the hand repeatedly in addition to sexual abuse. Gigi absolutely could not stand to let this abuse go any further. Which is why exactly she ended his life by giving him a fatal drug cocktail to end his suffering. Similar to Gigi, George had ended the life of a loved one, Lennie, who had a mental disability as well. However, George ended Lennie’s life in a different way. Instead of using drugs to end Lennie’s suffering, he used a gun.
