For example, ocean acidification is already a problem. The decrease in pH of our ocean acidity is causing coral reefs to die out—which houses thousands of organisms’ homes and food sources. Due to the contaminants, we release into the natural environment, we are slowly losing ecosystems every day. The diver turns around to see a dwarf minke whale on her left. These are just two of the various amazing marine creatures that a marine biologist could encounter whilst simply doing her job. Marine biologists are biologists who study saltwater animals and plant species. Not only are they collecting and analyzing data about marine life, they are raising attention about problems to try to protect the environment (Greenland and Sheldon). However, working in fieldwork can be very physically demanding and marine biologists have to cope with deep-water pressure and walking long distances. Also fieldwork assignments can be very long and last up to weeks at a time (Greenland and Sheldon). Being a marine biologist can be a very unique and amazing experience traveling to rare regions to study marine life, although it can be very dangerous and time consuming.

At this point in time, it is getting harder and harder for a man to surprise the love of his life with an engagement ring and the word, “Will you marry me?” Countless men have gotten on bended knee on the beach, at a football game, cruise ship, and the spot where they met their partner.

Marine Biology is the study of all aspects of life in the sea and the environment on which it depends. Marine Biologists study marine plants, animals and other organisms, vertebrate and invertebrate in the deep oceans, shallow seas and laboratories. Marine Biologists want to improve the understanding of the marine world and to predict changes in ecosystems affected by human and natural disturbances.

Many people have had a moment where they encounter something extraordinary that will change a part of them forever. A Marine Biologist is someone who studies all types of sea creatures and can choose to specialize in studying large ocean animals all the way down to microscopic organisms. Marine Biologists study life in not only the ocean, but also other brackish (salty) waters such as estuaries, bays, and tidal flats. They do not just study ocean life, but also the destruction we humans do to our oceans and how to understand how the ocean process works. Marine Biologists also provide the information needed to create new management methods to build a sustainable future for the ocean.

He documented and described many forms of marine life. During the Renaissance period, Europeans started to explore the world. Soon explorers began to take Naturalist on their explorations to make scientific discovers about the ocean and lands. By the mid eighteen hundreds explorations were being funded solemnly for scientific research. Once upon a time, A young teen, beautiful long haired, green eyed mermaid who everyone knew by the name Crystal. She lived for the thrill of adventure, and was a very curious girl. Her father King Troy had long white facial hair and was aging into his early fifties was the ruler of the ocean sea floor he was powerful and never went anywhere without his special necklace his father passed onto him as a young boy, which held enormous power that controlled the deep sea. Crystal had one other fetus sister that died inside her mother’s stomach . A few days later her mother died from an infection from the miscarriage. It’s been 2 years since Crystal’s mother died. The kingdom was in a dark time since the death of their queen.

Marine biology, a type of marine science that study’s organisms from something as small as coral organisms to even animals as large as whales. They study the animal’s behaviors and interactions within the environment. What is the importance of this career? Marine biology is very important because these researchers study and have research projects on the ocean and marine life. These marine biologist play a large role in climate change, and they also find ways for different companies to find suitable ways to make money off the marine life.

A lot of plastic bags end up in the ocean. The plastic that goes in the ocean goes to a island of garbage. The island is called the pacific garbage patch and that island is twice the size of texas. The trash that is on that island is eaten by fish and plastic makes fish think there full and there really not. Also the plastic that the fish eat damages their reproductive system and that means we can't eat that kind of fish or they will become extinct.

Plankton, also known as drifters is a type of organisms that that drifts or floats with ocean currents. It includes organisms such as, protozoa, algae, larval forms of animals, and bacteria. Plankton can be categorized based on the styles of feeding. There are many types of plankton, which includes phytoplankton, zooplankton, and bacterioplankton. A real-life example of phytoplankton is diatoms, and they are responsible of “recycling” sunlight and carbon dioxide in order to “offer” oxygen to the world. They also have adaptations that allow them to float in water, and they will form long chains that are connected by silica spines in order to help them not sink to the bottom. For the longest time I wanted to be a marine biologist, so I decided to take an Ocean Science class this semester and my professors name is Mr. Wayne T. Marko. I decided to interview him for that very reason. I wanted to know why he chose his field, but also why he likes to teach about the ocean. Mr. Marko has his Ph.D. in Geoscience and his M.S. in Geosciences from Texas Tech University. He also received his B.S. in Geological Sciences at the University of Southern California. Mr. Marko’s research concentrates on the structure, petrology, and tectonic environments of igneous and metamorphic rocks. He also has publications about his research.

Oceanography is and always will be my life. I spent most of middle school through college with one goal in mind, and that was to study and explore the ocean. A little more than half way through college I started thinking about what exactly I would be doing after I graduated. I hadn’t quite figured it out at the time. Eventually I started to think that I would just go to grad school and specialize in Chemical Oceanography or something. Senior year came and went and I started to pay more attention to the elections.
