Firstly, I want to thank the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation donors for awarding me with a scholarship. It has truly been a blessing upon my family and me. Also, I would like to give thanks to God because without him none of this is possible. Again, I would like to thank you so much for the donation into my education, it has been a huge help in keeping me where I truly love being, which is High Point University. Secondly, I would like to tell you about myself and my family life. My connection to the Marine Corps is through my father, Johnell Daye, JR. I am currently a raising junior at the age of 18 years old. My major is strategic communications with advisement pre-professional of pre-law. This upcoming academic year will involve a lot with preparing for the LSAT in the summer along with picking deciding on which law schools I should visit. My scholarship award will take a huge financial burden off of my family and allow them to start focusing on law schools with me. Also, it will allow me to focus solely on schooling instead of having to find a part time job on top of taking 36 credit hours this year. Additionally, it will allow me time to continue to participate in student life on campus along with continuing to perform my physical activities this year. My short – term goals within the next 5 years is to graduate from High Point University with over a 3.5 GPA. Another short – term goal is to get accepted into the law school of my choice with little cost to my family. Then I want to graduate from law school before I turn 25 years old, my current projection is to have my J.D. at the age of 23 year old. Now, I have also long – term goals which involving becoming the youngest state Judge. I also want to start an employment agency that helps the underserved find jobs to better their lives but also provides them with the tools to advance in their positions.
