I think the Marinetti Shrem Museum was an interest museum that the students should visit. The museum is not very big comparing to other museum, and they don’t even have map for the visitors since it’s a small museum. The museum was separated into different rooms; there is room for the art exhibition, and room for student’s collection. Personal belonging bags are not allow to bring inside the art gallery, but what I like about the museum was that it provide a self-check locker when I can storage my backpack for free. There are also some information sheets that are placed on the counter when visitors can get it for free. Inside the gallery there is lot of different kind of arts, things like toilets that made of ceramic, paintings, drawings, and
Museums have long served a purpose as cultural staples. For every museum, big and small, careful consideration is used in selecting its contents. When securing new items for a museum, it is most important to consider public appeal, educational value, and cost-effectiveness.
Any questions about whether a museum-visit activity fits the course and assignment well enough will be decided by the instructor when the student seeks approval for the activity. Any alternative
This artwork is on display at the Zuckerman Museum and is a part of their Gut Feelings collection which focuses on relationships with food. This media is a photograph and it depicts the aftermath of a meal that has taken place in bed. In the formal analysis, the author utilizes the formal elements of space, time, light, and color. Space is especially important due to that part of the meaning of the photograph comes from the environment that it was taken. The picture shows an extremely cluttered space with several items surrounding a piece of negative space in the bed where there is nothing there. The picture also reveals that the space is cramped and whoever sleeps there has a miniscule amount of room since the nightstand is squished between the corner and the bed. The way the photographer utilizes time is peculiar because in the picture there is a digital clock that shows the time at 9:44 and based on the kind of food on the bed (Kentucky Fried Chicken) we can assume that it is 9:44 P.M. instead of A.M. The photographer also manipulates light in a particular way as well. The photograph is relatively dark around the edges and the only light is illuminating from the lamp on the table. The light coming from the lamp is a dim yellow color which leads into the last element of color. In consideration of the
Interestingly, my first visit to the Museum was almost accidental. When I was a freshman, my mother was taking an art class at the College of Staten Island which required a class trip to the Metropolitan Museum, and my brother and I both agreed to accompany her. I will never forget the moment that I first laid eyes on the Metropolitan Museum. Although it was a dark, cold winter night, the shimmering lights made the building most inviting. As we crossed the threshold, I was struck by
Overall, subjectivity is very important to this non-fiction article, it allows the reader to get a taste of what the museum may feel like, what emotions they may feel,
Countless art has been sought-after throughout history. Explorers, scientists, art collectors, politicians, and entrepreneurs from Western nations have sought out and removed art from the lands of great civilizations, often with the assistance and participation of local people and governments. Even as cultural property faces immediate danger today in conflict zones like Syria and Mali, there is circumstantial evidence that some nations are awakening to the political and foreign policy benefits that can flow from the repatriation of cultural patrimony. While on a different scale from World War II, historic structures, religious monuments, and other priceless ancient times continue to suffer collateral damage and manipulation in armed conflict. Relics have been stolen, smuggled and sold in what is a reported multibillion dollar underground market. They have become the illicit prizes of private collectors and the subject of legal claims against museums. Of the countless museums subject to legal claims, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City happens to be one of them. “The Metropolitan Museum has acquired thousands of works and objects of art from the antiquities”. “For the past several years, the government of Turkey has warned U.S. and foreign museums (including The Metropolitan Museum of Art), that unless ancient objects from Turkish soil are given up on demand, Turkey will stop lending artworks” (The Committee for Cultural Policy, 2015). Turkey continues to up the
Next, each room of art were unique. When I get into each room, some things that surprise me that each room was very exclusive, original and uncommon. Also, the rooms were very enlightened and I personally felt that each room had something for everyone in the family. Another thing that I noted of the museum was the accessibility of each floor, so anybody can go and have a great time without
The purpose of this paper is to visit The Metropolitan Museum of Art and write a reaction paper about art works at the museum based on my impressions about them. To begin, I will start by giving you a little of background information about this interesting museum.
The premises of the Museum are also well kept. I was also amazed to find out that the visit to the Museum is completely free. Since it’s a public place, no one charges any person for the things that they view at the place.
In summary, I would definitely visit this museum again and I look forward to future visits to other museums. I would never have visited this museum if I wasn’t obligated to and I’m glad I experienced it with some basic knowledge that I learned so far in this class. I’m very interested in learning more about art so I can utilize my knowledge in future museum visits.
When I came to the museum, the first thing that impressed me was the astonishing building: it was a masterpiece itself. The exterior of the Tampa Museum of Art has a light installation, and all I wanted at that moment is night to come so I could see thousands of colored lights reflected in the surface of the river that flows near the museum. What’s more, I liked the design of the museum inside as well. There were white walls and perfect lighting, and nothing would bother contemplation. In many museums I have visited before there was a lot of distractions, but in this museum everything was done on the principle of simplicity, and that was very pleasing to me. Moreover, when we came inside of the museum, it was almost empty. There were just a few visitors, who were fascinated by various drawings and statues. Most of the visitors were teenagers, what slightly surprised me. I
The Museum of Art Sao Paulo, was created to promote cultural development within Brazil. The MASP was a collaboration between Pietro Maria Bardi, wife Lina Bo Bardi and local media operator Francisco de Assis Chateaubriand Bandeira de Melo, in attempt to replace the original museum which was far too small for the increasing amount of activities that curators wanted to hold. Bardi worked together with engineer Jose Carlos de Figueiredo Ferraz to create a space that could meet the long list of activities that the museum needed to accomodate. The MASP was to be located at the Trianon, an area that had been a catalyst for important political and cultural events at the start of the twentieth century. Whilst early sketches and plans were completed
Never before have I seen a museum as grand as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. From its architecture to its massive art collection, The Met has a little bit of everything and one is sure to find something that captures his or her interest. Considering that The Met is the United States' largest art museum, it is easy to get lost within its many corridors and wings. My visit to The Met took place during the last week of July. Despite the almost unbearable heat and humidity that hung in the air, visiting museums under these climate conditions is a welcome respite from a suffocating, yet bright summer afternoon.
This was actually my first visit to this museum since I have gone to Kennesaw. My expectations were pretty high initially upon going, because I have heard so many things about it from my peers. Just by their opinions, and my love for art I have myself, I was actually excited about going in to take a look. I must say, I was not disappointed by any of the art work I saw in there. I really enjoyed the exhibit of work from some students from a high school around this area. It really shows that the college really supports the youth of the future and their passion for art as a whole.
I recently visited the Menil Collection, this is a very small humble museum. The Menil Collection is a museum that holds multiple artworks. The museum is located in a neighborhood next to a little area where people can go out and picnic and hang out with the their families for a while. I fact about the Menil Collection that surprised me was how they consider their grass art. My sister and I accidently stepped on the grass not knowing it was art and when we were handed a booklet describing a couple of their art pieces the grass was on their! The museum also has a couple of sculptures and landmarks located right outside the building. Before stepping in into the museum I observed that it was very small, and I thought there was not going to be any interesting art pieces since it was so small. The outside of the building was very simple, it was a white small building with large windows, nothing that really caught my attention. Once we were greeted by the employee we collected a couple of brochures for the background information of the artworks and we headed in. The first room of the museum really did not have any interesting art pieces, they were basic squares and circles with primary colors. I really enjoyed how the art pieces were separated depending on their movement, such as surrealism, abstract, and sculptures. There were many special exhibitions, the one that stood out the most to me was “ Hurting the word Radio”. This art piece was created by Edward Ruscha using oil on
