Winter is the final book in Marissa Meyer’s Lunar Chronicles series. These books are science fiction books with elements of classic fairy tales throughout them even though they are marketed the other way around. This final book was over 800 pages and twice the size of the first book. This book picks up a month after the events in the last book and spans the length of eight to nine days. This book also introduces a new set of characters Winter and Jacin. And following in fashion with the other books in this series it was told in alternating viewpoints. Although lovers of this series will be sad to see it end and some may disagree with how it ended, Winter is a thrilling conclusion to the series that complements and completes the overall story
Winter is something bad that happens then gets better once spring arrives. In the Outsiders Darry and Ponyboy have a miserable relationship. However, as more inconvenient events present themselves Pony and Darry become closer, and toward the end of the book they become excellent brothers yet greater friends. Pony and Darry’s relationship in the beginning of the book is the winter with bare trees and what not, and at the end of the book their relationship is like spring with the fresh air, and blooming
Wintergirls is a novel by award-winning author Laurie Halse Anderson. The story follows an 18 year old girl named Lia who struggles with the complexity of high school, an internal battle with anorexia, the death of her bulimic best friend and overbearing parents step-parents. Though it is a lengthy and exasperating journey with many plights, in the end, Lia is able to accept the fact that she needs help, start a new journey on the road to recover, and begin to heal wounds with her family.
I think that the author included Parker in the story because it was a great way to show that these people were actually people and that they had emotions, they cared for others, and someone from a European descent found them to be better than ‘civilized’ society. However, there were also many instances of them being truly terrible to some people specially to older women (Gwynne, 106). Parker was also the mother of “the last chief of Comanches”, Quanah. She eventually married and had children with an Indian reported in a paper that surprised many people (Gwynne, 116). This is why when she was finally found by her brother she did not want to leave her family (Gwynne, 126). However eventually Parker was taken back to her white family with her daughter, and they both eventually died; Quanah

The young-adult romance novel Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle tells exciting adventures of teenagers realizing the love they dreamed of won’t always play out like in the movies. This book follows Jubilee, Tobian, and Addie who discover that love can come at the worst timing sometimes. Whether that be on a train stuck in a blizzard, a journey to your local Waffle House, or just a barista trying to keep a promise to a friend. This book reminds its readers that both love and friendship can be the most important thing in one's world and sometimes its the only way to get through the hardest times.
In the novel, “A Separate Peace” by John Knowles, the seasons develop actions and characters in the story. The story takes place at an all-boys boarding school in New Hampshire during World War II based off of the author’s previous experiences at a boarding school. The two main characters, Finny and Gene, experience character development alongside different seasons. In written works, seasons are commonly used to symbolically represent a change in the character’s personalities. The nature or setting of the story is used to specifically evolve Finny and Gene in seasons such as the summer, autumn, and winter. Each season change also generates an entirely different mood.
Concerning, the different stories we had read in the past two weeks. I have considered to compare in contrast Yolanda and Andrea from the stories with the title of “Snow” and “Doe season”. As I go over the those two stories “Snow” and “Doe season”, I reflect that both characters, Andrea and Yolanda were innocent from their environment, which causes them to learn something about themselves.
Then the whole family went to town to trade in her father’s furs from the winter, and then summer began. Laura helped her mother make butter, cheese, and hats while her father planted the crops. Then in the beginning of fall, a wonderful machine came to help her father harvest by separating the wheat from its stalk. Meanwhile, she and her mother finished canning. The book ended just as winter was about to begin
In the beginning of the novel the narrator appears to be young girl who has recently finished school. She is shy, uncertain, and quiet. The narrator seems to shy away from the spotlight when first talking to Mr. de Winter. As she gets to know him a little bit she opens up and soon becomes smitten for him. The narrator uncharacteristically takes a reckless chance and becomes the new Mrs. de Winter.

I chose to read the novel “Snow” by Orhan Pamuk for my book report. The novel “Snow” is about a poet named Ka who is a political exile living in Germany. Ka travels to Istanbul to attend his mother’s funeral and is asked by a friend at a local newspaper to travel to the town of Kars to write about the municipal elections and a string of suicides being committed by Islamist women who are being forced to take off their headscarves at school. Ka has been experiencing writers block while living in Germany. Upon his return to Kars, poems begin to start coming to him. Throughout the novel, Ka has poems come to him after a significant event occurs or when something inspires him. Ka ends up writing 19 poems during his stay in Kars. When the
InstaCasino was founded in 2014 by a group of experienced online casino professionals, all of which had worked in affiliations, customer support, and marketing areas of the gaming industry. It is this industry passion that carried InstaCasino through its lengthy development. In total, InstaCasino took a year to set up, finally launching in September 2015. However, while the wait has been long, the casino product that has emerged is fun, safe, and certainly easy to navigate.
Lucy’s experience in the United States is dissatisfactory from the moment of her arrival onwards. She describes her first night as “gray-black and cold” and notes that no one told her January would be cold (Kincaid 3-5). This comment marks the intensity of Lucy’s transition. And Coldest, too, opens with an unforgiving winter. The first lines, “cold, and coldest,” reflect not only the season but Lucy’s experience of it - she has never experienced a night so cold. The unfamiliar season
