Through important ideas, an individual's perceptions and relationship with others enabled to realise the importance of understanding ourselves and others that impelled individuals to confront the truth of reality. In Mark Haddon “Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” illustrate Christopher perception of himself, and how his uniqueness has diminished his understanding of the world as his whole life he only concentrated on himself. Christopher is unique that he “got Siobhan to draw lots of these faces and then write down next to them exactly what they meant” as he finds it hard to talk to people as he can’t identify their expression. He tried so diligently understand others so that he can communicate with them. He accesses an important idea as Christopher enhance his understanding of humans. Christopher felt that he a machine as his “mind is just a complicated machine” that's why he “likes things in order” as he feels that his in control and it can go the way he wants it to be. Unlike him communicating with others is more like a puzzle to him as he has to keep solving until he finds the right solution. That's the reason why Christopher “do not like strangers… they are hard to understand” as when Christopher chat with people who know about his uniqueness like Siobhan, they would talk to him in a way that Christopher can comprehend like not talking in simile and metaphor. Unlike, communicating with a stranger Christopher would have a harder time as they would speak in a way he doesn’t recognise.
