after reading Mark Twain's essay; The Damned Human Race, I find myself in agreement with the views that Twain sees as, The Desent of Man from the Higher Animals. although humans can show kindness and compassion at times, it is that heartlessness and cruelty of man that distinctly places humans in the lowest animals category.
