Knowing the definition of a job is only the first steps in deciding if that job is for you, but it is a good place to start. The American Marketing Association defines its trade as: "Marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large." To add to that marketing managers, have the added responsibilities of hiring staff and team building; vision casting and strategic planning; and managing budgets and tracking their results, along with regular duties of marketing (Reports, 2016). Well that is a start, but to really understand a job a person should also look in to lifestyle, economics, geographic, company, and mobility too. These aspects of a job can make the difference when trying to decide on what you want to do and where you want to go in life.
The lifestyle of your career choice, or in this case of a marketing manager is a large consideration in choosing a job path. Most marketing managers work in to their sixties with the average salary being around $127,130, with income increase opportunities. Being one of the higher payed management jobs, compared to sales management and market research analysists.
