Promotions Integrated marketing concepts, IMC, are the processes that “assure that all brand contacts received by a customer or prospect for a product, service, or organization are relevant to that person and consistent over time” (Kotler & Keller, 2012, p.495). Apple products are perfectly designed to utilize various forms of media. Social media in particular has changed the way that brands interact with their market base (Bruce & Solomon, 2013). Apple has engaged in social media, paper ads, emails and commercials. In an effort to keep it’s current customers engaged, Apple will send emails to notify current product users of new products that will soon be available. It actually is beneficial for companies to make a difference in the world or community because, “customers’ perceptions of a company as socially responsible influences their intentions to continue purchasing from the company” (Patino, Kaltcheva, Pitta, Sriram, & Winsor, 2014, p. 5). As with any electronics company that outsources to China for product manufacturing, assembly, or both, there are issues that should be taken into consideration when looking at overseas employees. Another issue is consumption of natural resources to produce the mass amounts of products being sold by the company. There have been claims made against Apple for its labor and sustainability in its Foxconn plant where there have been a number of suicides related to management and working conditions (Hordijik, Olup, Nguyen, Cedillo, & Mercedes, 2012). People are even more valuable than the price you can get a product down to by exploiting workers in another country. It is understandable that in order to compete in todays market, a company must keep prices in a certain range, but staying in that range is not worth loosing credibility as a socially responsible company. Suggestions for Apple would be to follow the golden rule and treat everyone down the employee line the way upper management would want to be treated, and make sure happiness is key in the midst of the the process.
