Marketing Definition and Importance Marketing Definition and Importance The world of marketing is very diverse and can be defined and applied in many different ways. One person might be asked to give a definition of marketing and give a totally different definition than another person. Marketing importance to an organization can be different from one to the other depending on product line and ways in which the organization markets the product. In today’s paper one will look at two different definitions of marketing, the importance of marketing within an organization and three examples of marketing in the business world. The first is e-publishing,” E-publishing’ is becoming increasingly popular for business articles. Electronic publishers are capable of providing quick gratification for late night readers, especially with books that are not available with larger book retailers. Another example is social marketing, “Thanks to new advertising methods like Social Marketing, advertising doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg any longer. In days’ past, putting together a successful marketing program meant you would have to browse through the Internet for hours on end searching for competing products and to make sure that yours is unique.
