Within each foreign nation, the firm is likely to find a combination of marketing environment and target markets that are different from those of its own home country and other foreign countries. It is important that in international marketing, product, pricing, distribution and promotional strategies be adapted accordingly. In order for an international firm to function properly, cultural, social, economic, and legal forces within the country must be clearly understood.
Hi Annie, Great post describing the importance of global marketing research plan. I agree that global marketing research plan should understand the social and cultural difference, determine whether products can be exported to the foreign country, and research prices for similar products in the targeted country. The marketing team will have to determine if the product can be exported to the foreign country “as is” or it needs to be modified to be useful for the targeted consumers. The companies should evaluate changes need to be made to the packaging and labels of the product and determine if it would be appealing the target consumer. Another fundamental difference could be language, therefore marketing team should accurately translate the

While we students are seeking internship opportunities to qualify ourselves for good job positions, figuring out what we have obtained from internship experience and preparing for future internships or jobs is even more important.
This paper focuses on how effective global advertisements with respect to cultural effects in India. In other words, the purpose of the paper is to find out whether a global advertisement will be effective; is it affected by culture, region especially in India. Global Marketing is the strategy used to increase sales and profit of a brand in international marketing through single message (Reference, 2016). In recent times, Global markets have increased significantly. In past few years international markets have grown faster than the domestic markets indication the growth of globalization. Most of the companies enter international markets for profits and to increase the sales. Some companies enter the international markets when their domestic market has reached maturity. One of the good examples is Coca-Cola. (Gillespie, n.d.). The most common paradox in global advertisement is “Think Global, act local”. It is know that thinking and behavior patterns are equally influenced by ones culture. (Mooij, 2010). Global marketers suggest that global youth segment with homogenous desires. That is localized versions of youth culture evolve when global youth cultures are available.(Kjeldgaard D., Askegaard, S, 2006). The great example of global communication is internet as it is assumed to cross the cultural barriers.(Cheon.H.J,C-H., & Sutherland,J.(2007). Difference of opinions are found in the cultures and between the culture. For example, after the battle of Waterloo,
The original formula for Red Bull was developed in 1964; however, the Red Bull company was not founded until 1984 after a merger between Dietrich Mateschitz, marketing guru, and Chaleo Yoovidhya, the owner of the Red Bull formula. Categorized as an energy drink, Red Bull was initially designed to “treat jet lag and boost energy for truck drivers” (Hollensen, 2012). In today's era, Red Bull is commonly used as an energy drink; like coffee, and as a mixer in alcoholic drinks, like Red Bull Wings and the Jägerbomb. This aligns with the company's focus on the younger generations of partygoers and post-secondary students.
Intercultural communication is defined as interaction between people whose cultural perceptions and symbol systems are distinct enough to alter the communication event. (Samovar, Porter, & Mcdaniel, 2009). It can also be defined as a form of communication that aims to share
For many students university can be quite theoretical and an internship is their first opportunity to apply their knowledge to the real world. The experience will not only help you to develop the skills needed to work in your industry; working on real projects for a real organization will also give you the interpersonal skills that you need to work effectively with others — and confidence in your own abilities. You may find that longer internships allow you to work on projects from start to finish and give you a more in-depth experience of an organization. If you have the spare time then a month-long intensive internship or a part-time internship over six months or a year may be a better option.
Trade and communication are no longer constrained by the physical boundaries of the country in which an organization is located in. Instead, goods, information and services easily flow across national borders in a way that was not imaginable only a few decades ago. This ease of communication and trade resulted in corporations relying less on their domestic or regional marketplace, and expanding internationally to take advantage of attractive economic opportunities in other countries and the international environment (SHRM, 2015). Due to the rise of international trade and transnational corporations the average manager now communicates with vendors, employees and businesspeople in multiple countries on a daily basis. This level of global communication between individuals, requires management to display a greater level of understanding, cultural awareness and sensitivity in order for communication to be effective. Unfortunately, many managers and organizations underestimate or ignore the barriers that culture and language create when trying to communicate in a global or multi-national setting. In doing so managers are unable to communicate effectively with the broad range of cultures represented in today’s workplaces. This decreases organizations’ ability to operate on the global business stage as well communicate and function internally effectively.
The only people who wanted to help where those who wanted to charge an arm and a leg to buy their course.
Therefore, the importance of internships is increasing day by day. It provides a way to apply theoretical knowledge into practical
