The plan will rely heavily on channel and image differentiation. This device will be easier to get than pricey Italian entries and the Mr. Coffee brand will be shown to reestablish brand affinity by keying into pop culture references.

Seattle based, Starbucks Corporation is the leading coffeehouse chain in the world. The company has its operations in more than 44 countries. The main products offered by Starbucks various kinds of drinks, snacks, coffee beans. The company also operates in the field of marketing of music, books (The Company, 2008).
Starbucks has created a competitive advantage with their product quality by setting themselves apart from their competitors. “The Company has stayed with the upper-scale of the coffee market, competing on comfort rather than convenience, which is the case with its closest competitors, McDonald’s and Dunkin Donuts” (Mourdoukoutas, Panos). Consumers believe they are receiving a better product and experience when they purchase from a Starbucks as opposed to another large food service company that may sell coffee.
Since they have become a 50% equity investor in a joint venture with Pepsi cola they now manufacture brands such as Frappuccino® beverages, Starbucks DoubleShot®, and Seattle’s Best Coffee®. Starbucks also have been really successful with their own brands such as Tazo® Tea, Seattle’s Best Coffee®, and their flagship brand Starbucks VIA®Ready Brew.
Just Us is an independent Canadian co-operative coffee roaster with a small chain of own cafes in Nova Scotia and a large network of distribution throughout Canada and in the USA. Apart from coffee, their products include tea, cocoa, sugar and various supplementary products. All of Just Us main products are fair trade certified and some of them are organic.

In conclusion, the Broadway Café faces a strong buying power and rivalry among competitors due to the large volume of shops offering the same products and services. The threat of new substitute products and alternatives is also high for the same reasons for buyer power. The Café also faces the threat of new entrants due to the lack of insignificant entry barriers. One upside is the relatively weak supplier power. The coffee industry is huge as stated above and vendors are more than ample. With this information we can conceive our business focus. The main target customers for Starbucks are office workers, with enough income, whom are able to afford the high prices of their products (Gaudio, 2003). The company has worked hard to establish itself as the brand leader with its branding as the most frequently drank coffee and noticeable brand logo. Introduction of promotions like the Starbucks Card, allows a more convenient way for a person to pay for your drinks and earn rewards for your purchase (Starbucks Coffee Company, 2011). Furthermore, in‐store promotions accompanied by new products and amenities like free internet use are all strategies that Starbucks use to maintain their position in the market (Vasudha, 2011).

I would like to propose a marketing plan for opening a coffee shop in the city of Moscow. Over the past two or three years, a coffee shop in Russia managed to grow in a socio-cultural phenomenon: at once there was like a house of cards, the Soviet culture of consumption of coffee.
People want to get their daily cup of great-tasting coffee in a relaxing atmosphere. Such customers vary in age, although most of clientele are college students and faculty.
