Thank you so much for the invitation to interview at WVSOM and the opportunity to speak with you during the panel session. After leaving the interview, I felt very at home and welcomed to the campus. Additionally, knowing the faculty goes above and beyond to help the students is so unique and was portrayed in numerous instances today.
The date is June 6th, 1984, and American President Ronald Reagan stands solemnly before a massive stone monument on what he calls "a lonely, windswept point on the northern shore of France." On this historic day, the President of the United States stands solemnly before a small crowd of some of the bravest men living. The men assembled before him know these cliffs well. These are the Rangers who scaled the cliffs 40 years ago to do more than win the cliffs on the shores of Normandy. These are the Rangers who began the retaking of the entirety of Europe from Axis Control. That was 40 years ago, now only 90 of the original 225 sit before him now. All that can be heard are the crash of the waves on beach below and the occasional cry of a seagull
I am writing this letter in order to convey my families unfortunate set of circumstances that have caused us to become delinquent on our mortgage. These circumstances are not only affecting us currently but will have a substantial impact on our future finances. We are currently working with a financial adviser who will organize a plan of action with specific steps to take in order to achieve our financial goals. Please know my families number one goal is to keep and remain in our home
The Malaise Speech is well known for its complete failure. Nonetheless, an in-depth analysis could demonstrate that Carter’s talk was not as bad as people thought. Therefore, to identify its liability and credibility, the analysis of Jimmy Carter’s speech will be divided into two main sections: analysis of logos, ethos, and pathos. Once the brief analysis is finished, there will be some personal conclusions about the speech.
In his speech, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop,” Martin Luther King Jr. reminds his audience of the agony, strength, and resentment they feel due to racial discrimination through personification, imagery, equivocation, and anaphora. In doing so, King persuades his audience of protestors to apply nonviolent methods of reform to gain equality while propelling a newfound sense of energy and motivation into the movement. King begins his speech by integrating personification and imagery to emphasize the pain and destruction that such unfairness creates in order to unify and convince his audience to make a change in the world. Through equivocation, he stresses the strength in the unified force of the African American community to demonstrate that passive resistance enough to achieve success. King alludes to the audience's anger in order to rally the protesters and incite energy in their tedious journey of reform. The rhetorical strategies of highlighting the various pathetic appeals works for the intended audience of demonstrators because this movement for equality has a very emotional origin.
Being on your phone too much takes away from your boredom and your own creative thoughts. In the month of April 2017, Manoush Zomorodi gave a speech at Ted Talks about how boredom can actually be good for you. Her purpose was to explain to people how being bored leads to great things. She also wants to clarify to people that being on your phone affects your boredom. She describes in her speech that while being on your phone is fun, it never gives you time to actually sit and think. Being on your phone never makes you bored, and Zomorodi wants to show that being on your phone too much doesn’t allow new thoughts to come about. Zomorodi’s primary audience was toward middle age people that could not keep their phones away from them. The theme

On Friday, March 31st I observed Northside Elementary School in the Brookville school district. I watched in a separate speech therapy classroom for students who also require special education. There was only one student who attended each session and the only professional in the classroom was the speech language pathologist, Miss. Haag.
There is more to life than just physically growing up; it’s about the experiences we gain from them and how we mature from these experiences. It makes us mature and has definitely taught me a thing or two and what I’ve learnt is, our lives are defined by our choices and the pathways we choose to take. They might be good or they might be bad.
Muniba Mazari’s speech is very emotionally powerful. It reminded me of a bumper sticker with the quote “well-behaved women seldom make history” that I saw a few days ago on a car. In both of these cases, the concept of conforming to the traditional conventions of femininity is strongly discouraged. Mazari, for instance, was astonishingly able to muster the strength to change from being a passive and compliant female to the strong, independent woman she is today. As a result, despite having experienced a horrendous car accident that completely altered her life, she overcame her new disabilities and even bettered her life. Muniba Mazari would have continued to be stuck inside an unhappy marriage, however, if she never decided to command greater

The famous speech “I’ve been to the mountaintop” by Martin Luther King Jr is broken down by composition and rhetoric techniques. It’s a persuasive speech about the concern of the Memphis Sanitation strike, a strike that increased the feeling of colored people feeling unequal towards white people. King spoke this speech on April 3, 1968, and it sadly was it last speech before he was assassinated the next day. His plan was to call for unity and nonviolent protest, he felt as if everyone should get along. Throughout his speech he stated “But I wouldn’t stop there,” meaning that he wanted people to not give up keep going through the difficult journey that it was going to change soon.
