Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15th, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the son of the Reverend Michael King and Alberta Williams. His father, a revered member of the black community was an outspoken proponent against racial discrimination. Growing up in a religious household, King was largely influenced by his father who served as role model and helped lay the foundation for his core beliefs. He awarded leadership of the first negro in 1955. His bus boycott lasted for 382 days. On December 1956, After the Supreme Court of the United States declared unconstitutional the laws requiring segregation on buses, and now the road the bus at equals. During these days king was arrested multiple time for the bombing of his house, which also subjected to personal abuse. He engaged as a negro leader, at age 35 he was the youngest man to receive the “Nobel” prize, and on April 14, 1968, while standing on his balcony in Tennessee he was assassinated.

As many people including myself didn’t know that Martin Luther King was a huge fan of Star Trek. More specifically he was a huge fan of Nichelle Nichols, an actress that played Lt. Uhura in the tv show. During the first series of Star Trek Nichols wanted to leave the show because she thought her role on the show was being diminished. She so happens told this to Martin Luther King at a dinner they were having and he told she couldn’t leave and needed to stay on the show. He later explained that she was a huge role model to many African American women and girls since she was the only African-American on TV in a role worth having. At first, Nichols thought he was being a bit bossy but as she thought about it more she realized he was right and
