On August 28th, 1963 there was a march in Washington DC, with a lot of people demanding change. The purpose of the march was to demand freedom, advocate for civil and economic rights for African Americans. They were also marching to find jobs. The march showed us that a lot of people were serious about how they wanted to see the country change so they were willing to help protest and support everyone and Martin Luther King. Most people felt like they wouldn’t stop trying until they see improvement. This march was the largest demonstration ever seen in the nation's capital, and one of the first to have extensive television coverage huge events people came from many different states and cities. There were millions of people at this march. Martin Luther King delivered him I have a dream speech, hoping to try to end racism. As you play close attention to the march it was just him delivering his speech. They did have other things going on, while people were waiting for the march to start. There were people playing in the band, and singing Negro spiritual. Other people got up to speak before the Martin Luther King. They said a prayer over everyone who was there. As I watch the video I have seen there was a lot of white people, also marching and protesting with the African Americans to achieve their objective. There were a lot of white people who were behind Martin Luther King trying to help support the civil right movement. The march was very powerful and peaceful. The song
